I live in a river valley with poor cellular signal strength so I rely on WiFi Calling to make phone calls while I am home. I had this working and then I suspected it was not working when anyone I called while at home complained about call quality. My story about recovering this functionality.
What is WiFi Calling?
Wi-Fi calling allows users to make and receive phone calls (voice or video) over a Wi-Fi internet connection instead of a cellular network.
What I did to get WiFi Calling again?
Confirmed that WiFi Calling was properly configured in my Ting Mobile account.
Still could not enable WiFi Calling on my Google Pixel 7a.
Replaced SIM.
Still could not enable WiFi Calling on my Google Pixel 7a.
Contacted Google tech support.
After several troubleshooting steps resetting mobile network settings then resetting Bluetooth & WiFi did the trick.
Opening the settings window I can see the phrase "Ting Wi-Fi Calling" in the top right corner of the display.
After WiFi Calling works for a month I will consider this problem resolved.
Having Fun,
