Help! i have a Fedora machine that seems to be confused about that it is. This is preventing me from updating it.
all these say Fedora 39, which is what I expect:
Neofetch: Fedora Release 39
/etc/fedora-release: Fedora release 39 (Thirty Nine)
/etc/os-release: ID=fedora, Version_ID=39
uname -a: 6.11.9-100.fc39.x86_64
Here's the problem:
dnf --refresh upgrade responds with Fedora 37 stuff, not Fedora 39:
Fedora 37 - x86_64 31 kb/s | 5.1 kb 00:00
Fedora 37 openh264 - x86_64 ....
Fedora 37 - x86_64 - updates ....
So I wonder if the files that point to the repos in /etc are screwed up.
The update to Fedora 40 dies with a variety of problems, lke missing libs and such. I can't copy and paste in this env, so I'll just say I'm getting stuff like package X from @system requires libicuuc.so.71() but none of the providers can be installed.
Any ideas?
