I wanted to say THANK YOU again so much for showing an interest in the
group, and for desiring to move this issue forward so we can get a
vote on the ordinance sometime soon!
On the issue of moving forward, though, I'm hoping that we can get a
meeting together to discuss what needs to happen next in the movement,
and soon. Does this weekend work for people? Saturday night? Sunday
afternoon? A picnic in a park? Grilling out at my house? (On that
note--anybody know the forecast for this weekend? ;oP)
We have some things to talk about:
- how to get our message to the people of Milwaukee
- a 'hen'bassador program (I have some ideas about this)
- money (I hate to say it, but there it is...money for a website,
for printing flyers, etc)
- writing a petition and a coherent, persuasive letter than can
be printed out and sent to alderpeople by anyone sympathetic to the
movement
- figuring out a timeline (when do we expect this to go to vote?
Should we spend the summer raising awareness and then move forward?
Or push a vote immediately?)
Let me know, people! :o) I think things can be decided much more
quickly in person than online. If we can get the nitty-gritty out of
the way we can start to really get the jump-start and get out there!
