Hey all--

I wanted to say THANK YOU again so much for showing an interest in the
group, and for desiring to move this issue forward so we can get a
vote on the ordinance sometime soon!

On the issue of moving forward, though, I'm hoping that we can get a
meeting together to discuss what needs to happen next in the movement,
and soon. Does this weekend work for people? Saturday night? Sunday
afternoon? A picnic in a park? Grilling out at my house? (On that
note--anybody know the forecast for this weekend? ;oP)

We have some things to talk about:
- how to get our message to the people of Milwaukee
- a 'hen'bassador program (I have some ideas about this)
- money (I hate to say it, but there it is...money for a website,
for printing flyers, etc)
- writing a petition and a coherent, persuasive letter than can
be printed out and sent to alderpeople by anyone sympathetic to the
movement
- figuring out a timeline (when do we expect this to go to vote?
Should we spend the summer raising awareness and then move forward?
Or push a vote immediately?)

Let me know, people! :o) I think things can be decided much more
quickly in person than online. If we can get the nitty-gritty out of
the way we can start to really get the jump-start and get out there!

Hi Chics (and none crowing roosters),
I am so excited to see this group moving forward!  I tried to pass chickens in Shorewood last year and am very happy to share my experience with you.  I dont have too much time to devote specifically to chickens, but I am working on many other food related things, so please consider me your ally on many levels.  Id love to get together with you for a launching potluck!  Just want to meet you all.

Onward!  ~g

Another dreary day--but it is a day closer to Sunday! Executive
decision to have the meeting at 5pm at my house in Brown Deer. Bring
your own meat to grill and drinks and a dish to pass. I'll take care
of dessert. (Does anyone have any allergies?)

When you RSVP, I'll send you my address. :o) Be prepared to talk
logo, website, money, and timeline of the movement. I've also got
another little project/surprise in the works that if it goes the way I
want I will share on Sunday!

Also be prepared to deal with a 5yr old, a 2yr old, and a Cardigan
Welsh Corgi. :oP
