The USA Ultimate D-III College Championship tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday May 18-19 at Uihlein Soccer Park. The Milwaukee Ultimate Club is the local organizing committee (LOC) and we are currently looking to fill our remaining volunteer positions.
Our main goals are to showcase the local Milwaukee ultimate scene and promote the Milwaukee Ultimate Club. By volunteering you will support both of those goals as well as promoting national caliber ultimate right here in Milwaukee (and earn free swag while you do it).
Here are the days, hours available and job descriptions.
Thursday:
10:00am - 6:30pm: Paint crew. put down the lines on 12 fields at Uihlein.
7:00pm - 9:00pm: Assemble player swag bags at Airflow, Inc (7330 N Teutonia, a block north of Good Hope and 10 minutes from Uihlein).
Friday:
10:00am - 6:30pm: Field set up. Help arrange tents, finish painting, fill water jugs, and all other odds and ends that always need to be done.
7:00pm - 9:00pm: Assist USAU staff with team check-in. Hilton Garden Inn (Park Place at Good Hope and Hwy 45).
Saturday:
7:30am - 6:15pm (half days are ok, full days are preferred): Score/stat keepers. Sit in a lawn chair, operate the scoreboard and keep
minimal stats. You'll work in pairs so one person does the play-by-play while
the other records the info. The first 1/2 hour of the day is a training session on the stat sheets and is mandatory.
All score/stat keepers who perform a minimum of a 1/2 day of work will get a staff shirt, lunch (subs or pizza) and/or dinner (pasta, salad, bread sticks) and a swag bag with disc, program, pint glass, and whatever other trinkets we can find. Volunteers are also encouraged to hang out and enjoy the social event featuring several different disc sport demos: freestyle, self caught flight, accuracy and guts.
Sunday:
6:30am - 4:15pm (half days are ok, full days are preferred): Score/stat keepers. See Saturday for job description. The first 1/2 hour of the day is a training session on the stat sheets and is mandatory unless you did it Saturday.
All score/stat keepers who perform a minimum of a 1/2 day of work will get a staff shirt, lunch (subs or pizza) and a swag bag. Volunteers are encouraged to hang out and watch the Women's and Open finals. Women will play the first final with the Open final ending the day.
Volunteers will also be provided snacks and beverages throughout both days in the USAU tent. And of course they will receive our undying gratitude.
Please let me know which day(s) and times you want to work. Again, 1/2 days are ok, full days are better.
