Anyone interested in purchasing 24Kw lithium packs? An EV supplier got a bunch of them from the defunct Project Better place. These are basically the same batteries that are in the Nissan Leaf.

Follow the link for details. It would be possible for several people to go in on one together and split up the cells for use on electric bicycles, EV motorcycles, and other projects that need something a little smaller.
Otherwise, if you already have an existing lead-acid battery EV, this would be a great way to upgrade to lithium.

Let me know your thoughts!

Really Ben?

You think I should junk my 1500lb SLA pack (with a new replacement cost of $5000) with a Lithium pack that's almost the same capacity, the right output voltage and a mere 600lb for less than $4000 including shipping?

Well, when you put it that way, I'm ordering one for sure, if enough people want to get a 2nd we should be able to save on shipping.
I plan on calling them and seeing what else I can find out before I order one.

If we end up wanting 2, it might make sense to pick them up rather than pay the $300 shipping

Make your minds up quick!

Tom

I was thinking that if more than one was wanted, I would just drive there and back to get them.
Estimated shipping from Missouri to Wisconsin is $300.
If we get 2 packs, that's $600. I'd drive there and back for that savings.

My friend, Ryland, in Menomonie is interested in 1/4 to 1/2 Pack, so he and Tim could split one.

Trying to find out any more details before buying is of course a very good idea.
