--Have you wanted to try out dirt biking?Have you wanted to improve your trail riding?Have you wanted to go riding on a course where you (probably) don't have to fear that your bike might get drowned in a mud hole that was so deep you could only see the grips after your bike sank in?If you answered yes to any of these questions, I've got good news for you: Wisconsin Offroad Adventures is interested in working out a deal with ChiVinMoto and MilVinMoto for a day of epic dirt biking! While the finer details are still being worked out, here's what I've got so far:When: Sunday, August 25th.Where: Wisconsin Offroad Adventures course in Random Lake, WI. This is just a little bit south of the Road America track. It's about 2 hours from Chicago (http://goo.gl/maps/zMNs0) and 45 minutes from Milwaukee (http://goo.gl/maps/VgxBo).What: Basic Dirt Bike School (8 open spots), Trail Riding School, and open course riding (the amount of spots for these other two schools is more open)Time: Schools will be in the morning (and maybe up til early afternoon TBD), there will be a lunch break and then the course will be open to all through the afternoonWhat if I don't have a bike? The course has dirt bikes, but priority will go to those taking the basic dirt bike class. If you have your own bike, bring it. If not, let me know so I can see what we can work out.How much? I'm working out a deal for less than what they usually charge. For the amount of fun you'll have, it'll be a steal. How much experience should I have? If you're going to take the basic course, you should have your M license and be comfortable on a motorcycle. They typically do not require this, but I think this will be a better day for everyone if we've got the basics down. If you're going to take the trail riding course or do open riding, you should be comfortable on a dirt bike. They are willing to cater to our skill levels, so please do not push yourself into the trail riding school if you think you could use more time learning the dirt basics. What kind of gear do I need? You will need all the typical gear you'd need for any motorcycle course, but they particularly specify boots. They have gear for rent also.Who is teaching this class? Alex Bub and his son, David, run the school, and they are eager to work with our group. Alex has an impressive racing resume (79 WERA 410CC National Superbike champion, 5 time AMACCs Battle of the Twins champion, 2 time Sport Motard Champion in Superbikers 2, AMACC super twin second place) as well as a wealth of experience in the dirt. His son has followed suit, spending his life riding dirt bikes and receiving rigorous training to teach dirt bike school. Alex also teaches the supermoto school at Road America, and he wanted to let everyone know that he'll be out there on June 1-2 in case anyone wants to drop by and say hi. You can find out more about this group at their website http://www.wisconsinoffroadadventures.com/.This is going to be a super fun day for anyone who goes!If you are interested and can make this date, please email me with your preference for basic dirt school or trail riding school, and/or open riding in the afternoon.I will email more information when I am able to gauge the level of interest and am able to work out the final details with the nice people at Offroad Adventures.Jen
