So I hinted that I would here and other places and have received support so I am willing to head up exploration of a new Milwaukee-based bike festival.

For first year I am thinking keep it simple and casual - probably now 'show' or just a meetup. I have one very probably location in mind but keeping close to the vest until I/we decide if we are doing this and where/when.

Again this is just exploratory to see if desired and possible to organize for 2014 but hope if I can get support and a few right hand men to help we can make it happen.

If anyone is interested in helping or at least give some input PM me at the e-mail for me personal project at ke...@wellmetman.com (BTW - check out my Men's/MKE pride project www.greatermkemen.com for some of who I am/what I do beyond motorcycles where I did promote Rockerbox/Fuel anniversaries last year with this post http://www.greatermkemen.com/2013/08/rockerbox-motofest-celebrates-10-year.html)

I am starting with creating a survey to ask people what they would want from such an event, developing the questions and then in a week or so put out the survey

The problem is a location that is free but yet can grow.   Obviously Riverwest was a great location but even a few years ago it was way too small. It would be a fairground location but I am guessing that will cost money and they probably would want a few 1000 motorcycles.

I missed rockerbox last year which sucks can’t believe they moved it up to RA  I did like the casual come and go feel of it on Center st.     Oh well life goes on and I am sure something will develop and I have more time to help now with the kids being older.

With my connections I think I can make the 'free' happen - well nothing ever free as there are permits and insurance and such but if we hook up with a non-profit can go under their umbrella as well - but with the top ideas I can make most happen reasonably.

How about MilVinMopedDrop.  Jeez, Graham.  Don't be such a hater.....

PS-I'm posting this to the list because I think your attitude is, well...interesting to say the least.  Normally, I would just reply to you personally.

I got it! I was thinking it might be a good shot at national PR. ;)

OK at the risk of explaining the joke and therefore making it not funny...

(because some of you that i know outside the internet obviously didn't get it and personally emailed me)

Its a riff on the 'Dumb Starbucks' store that opened in LA to much media fanfare- the link i posted

since real 'Rockerbox' is obviously the property of Scott and Tim or whoever and they have chosen to move it to RA, the rest of us who woke up hungover and missed the bus or whose motorcycles are too crappy to make the journey or cant afford admission, will be stuck going to our own 'Dumb Rockerbox' in Milwaukee with all the lowbrows, drunks, burnouts, and saggy tube top riverwest wierdos....

aside from comedy pot shots, I'm keeping my opinion of the RA move to myself, the whole 'if you don't have anything nice to say...' thing that my mom told me.

Yes, I see.  Thanks for clarifying.  VERY funny, as usual from Comedy Central...

I like the part in the article:  "The question is whether the word "dumb" sufficiently makes clear that the store is making fun of Starbucks..."  Like there's anyone in the whole world who isn't aware that Starbucks is the butt of numerous jokes....
