Tips for selling a motorcycle?

I have a 1981 Yamaha Maxim 550. It's been sitting unused for about two years, and I've decided that I need the floor space more than the bike. 

Here's the issue: I'm sure it needs some carb work & a tune up. I'm not mechanically inclined at ~all~ and am trying to avoid the hassle and expense of getting it to a shop where they can make it purr. Honestly, scrapping it and taking the loss is starting to look more and more attractive.

Any suggestions? Are there any marketplaces where people buy fixer-uppers? Do I have any hope of selling this as-is? Not being mechanically inclined, I don't know if that skill set allows buyers to see the future of what the bike CAN be. Any input would be appreciated; please message me off list.
