2022 Vintage Track Day
Apparently doing a track day right before the AHRMA weekend at Blackhawk Farms was a really good idea. I get that impression because AHRMA stole the date. Hey, I'm flattered.
So we're going back to doing the annual Vintage Circus in mid May. Monday May 16 we will have a dedicated group for old bikes as well as the Motovid Sport Riding 101, Performance Riding 201, and Advance Basics 301 schools. If you've never done a track day you need to do the 101 school before being allowed in the open Vintage group. 101 is also great if your only prior instruction is that one time you took the MSF course 12 years ago. If you've already done 101 maybe consider taking 201. If you're planning on racing with AHRMA at Blackhawk in August what could be better than taking a riding school at the same track you'll later be racing on?
The vintage group will be open to anyone with previous track experience on a bike from before 1983 or so. Also we allow motards, dual sports on non-knobby tires, Ninja 250's, and any other misfit bike that does fit in at a "normal" track day. If you're on some 600cc or bigger sport or sport/standard you can do track days all summer long all over the midwest.
Whatever group you want to sign up for I've got a discount code for 20 bucks off. The Vintage groups will be running under its own rules that I've developed with Motovid. Two piece riding suits will be allowed. Your gear must be in good shape, no janky torn worn out crap. Take advantage of the end of season and holiday sales and get yourself some new gear.
TWALD 2021 charity donation
Special thank you to Gabe Lanza for once again cooking up a fantastic t-shirt design and also to Brian Bowles for hooking me up with a deal on getting the TWALD 2021 shirts printed. Also thank you to BoscoVinMoto's Thomas Metcalf for knocking out a batch of stickers. Thanks to these guys and everyone who bought a shirt, patch, pin or sticker we raised $400 for the Living Faith Food Pantry in Viroqua. No doubt we'll do another shirt next year and I'll find some other deserving charity to give the profits to.
TWALD 2022
In other semi-related AHRMA news they moved the midwest double header. AHRMA Blackhawk Farms is now the weekend before Labor Day and AHRMA Gingerman Raceway is Labor Day weekend. In order to make it easier for our AHRMA racers who are also TWALD fans Jennifer and I have decided to move TWALD back a weekend so TWALD 2022 will be Two Weekends After Labor Day, September 16, 17 and 18. Good news: the Vernon County Fair is that weekend so those who are so inclined can go check out the tractor pulls and demolition derby.
