Costumes - help!

Dear all,

I need your help with costumes as follows.

I have identified who all need which costumes in each scene. I also took the liberty to 

distribute the costume coordinator roles amongst ourselves. 

Kindly take a look at your assignment and coordinate with the team to finalize the costumes by this weekend.

Greek costume:  Lalitha and Kranthi

    Scene 1: Shaina, Gautam (Alex), Anuhya, Neeharika, Amulya and Rohit

    Scene 5: Rohit, Keerthan, Gautam (Alex)

    Scene 8: Aarushi, Amulya, Rohit, Siddhant

    Scene 9: Aarushi, Prathima, Karthik (Alex), Rohit, Amulya, Shreya, Varun (Alex)

Snake dance costume: Sravanthi and Kanya

  Scene 5: Aarushi, Shaina, Sahiti, Anjali, Anuhya, Amulya, Pratima, and Neeharika

Ball playing kids costume: Deepashree

  Scene 5: Karthik, Varun, Avik, and Sohamn 

Disciple costume: Shobha

  Scene 8: Gautam, Anuhya, Avik, sohamn 

  Scene 9: Gautam, Anuhya

Vivekananda costume: Supriya

  Scene 5: Shreya

  Scene 8: Neha Sunil

  Scene 9: Sahiti, Shaina

Folks,

Today, at Drama meet, it is decided to buy Black tights, black full hands plain( no turtle necks), shiny black skirt kind of thing( to cover the tights) for Snake dance costume.

Now, I already purchased 2 medium, 1 large and 3 extra large tights each around $9. ( need to buy 2 more large, I can pick it up tomorrow from a different Target).

If one of the moms can pick up full hand simple black tops from Walmart/old navy [we have 2 (7 years old,) 3(10 years old) and 3- (12  years old)], it would be great. Suggest price range is less than $10.

The black skirt material with some fancy ribbon would be around $6 per kid. I still need to pick this up tomorrow. 

 For stitching the skirts, I have a model(simple one) but looking for someone who has some stitching/ cutting experience. Please let me know if anyone can volunteer for this. Else will have to look for a tailor.

We can meet at Milpitas, between 1-2p.m at 908 Cameron Circle, Milpitas, CA. My cell is 408-307-3478. Please let me know who all can make it. During weekdays, it would be difficult to meet and discuss/finalize.

One lady in fremont is willing to stitch the costume (skirt and small top) for $10/per kid.

Marterial cost would be $7 per head.

Please let me know if everyone is fine with this. She said she will have them ready by Friday, so please kindly reply by afternoon today, if possible.

Aug 28th ---- Tuesday ----- Dance and drama practice from 7 to 9 PMin Milpitas (at Supriya's house)

                                       ---- Gautam, Rohit, Varun and Neha Sunil are optional for this practice session

                                       ---- Snake dance costume preparation (all moms need to bring in their kid's costumes and help with the preparation--- Follow Kanya Lakshmi's email)

2.  I requested the tailor to go ahead with cutting and stitching based on a few replies for  shiny skirt and shiny top.

      ( cost per kid is roughly $17 or $18)

    

3. Shobha is picking up sample black shirt and I picked up leggings, if we finalize on them today, we are all set with snake costume.

Please plan on paying the following 

1. Supriya - Greek Costume - $26

2. Supriya - Dance Saree Rental  -$10. ( Teacher said that we can use black tights inside the Saree and no need to buy white or cream tights.)

3. Me   - Snake costume - $26.75 ( Leggings(8) - $39+$39+$56(material)+$80(stitching) = $214/8= 26.75).  I'll pay to Sushma? who purchased the 4 Leggings.

                ( Please bring you own full hands black shirt and I'll distribute the stitched skirt and top tomorrow).

We are also trying to see if ICC can give us a hall to practice on Monday Sept 03 from 2PM to 4PM (it's labor day weekend). We are waiting to get a confirmation. Will keep this group posted.

Today's practice is at 7 PM at my home. Kids may leave as soon as their part is done.

We will also have one final stage practice on Friday at 6.30 at JCC auditorium.

Kids are must... parents are optional.

Here's the agenda:

1. Scene 8 and 9 drama rehearsal (there will be a slight change in choreography)

    

2. Snake dance practice

3. Kathak dance practice at 7.30 PM (Sangitaji will attend as well)

4. Final Costume discussion and payments

Attached is the payments sheet including the payments I have received so far. Please take a look at your balances.

In case you already paid and it is not listed in the sheet, then please let me know.

I am still trying to find the cost for the white kurtha set and orange kurtha
