Errorcode 002.
This error mainly appears due to the fact that the version of Service Tool used does not support this printer model. It can be solved by replacing the program with a suitable variation. Today you can buy Service Tool v5510, but this does not mean that it is suitable for all Canon MFPs (for example, for old printer models it is better to use more old Service Tool version).
Error code 005.
The most common error. Appears when the software cannot recognize the printing device. The reasons can be: the printer was not put into service mode, the printer main board is broken, the software is faulty, etc.
You can try to fix the problem by restarting your PC and printer and switching the USB port or replacing the USB cable that syncs the two products.
Error code 006.
This error usually indicates that the printer has not entered service mode. Try restarting the printer, rebooting the PC and performing the printer waste ink counters reset procedure once more time. Also You can try to change the USB connection port and cable.
Error code 009.
This error is also common problem. It is caused by the fact that there is some other fault in the printer, in addition to the overflowing Canon Waste ink Counter. To determine the error, count the number of times the device lights blink. The most common failure is the absence or inoperability of the cartridge. Try resetting the ink levels counter first.
Until you fix the problem, the Service Tool will not be able to reset Waste Ink Counters.
Good day.....On different canon printers I have got the ink absorber error before and used the tool 3400 reset tool for canon. With this printer however I am kind of stumped. I tried a few of the different ways online they say to get in to service mode however on the tool I am getting and error 006. Some sites say that error means I am not really in service mode while others say I should disconnect my printer and reconnect and the error should go away. Nothing has worked so far and I want to know if anyone knows the correct way to get into service mode on a MG2410 ...OR 2400 series or any tips to get the error from the service tool to go away. The couple videos on youtube about this printer seem to be in Spanish. Can someone please help me
This pixma 2410 does not seem to garner any positive remarks anywhere mine was printing only I stopped using for a few months and whoa no more just the alarm lights that wont stop regardless of the fixes I really mish Canon would own up and supply the fixes we need
I just bought and installed the 1 x License for Canon Service Tool V5105 for One PC (License_V510) = $30.00.I unzipped it and tried to launch it and popped up a message saying something to the effect that this tool is licensed to (which is my correct email address). Thereafter nothing happened - the GUI did not launch. I've clicked on the binary 5105.exe many times and it just doesn't start. I'm running Windows 7
I managed to get it to launch after pretty much excluding it from all my defence solftware. However, when I run the first step by pressing EEPROM and selecting RearTray and click OK, I'm getting an error message saying Error!(error code : 009). I cannot go beyond that. Please see screenshots attached to see what I'm experiencing.
As to your questions, the LEDs are flashing green and orange(my printer is a Canon MP640). And for your second question, the answer is I can't print when I start the printer normally and that's the reason I bought your software. When I start the printer I get the B200 error, which to my understanging, the Service Tool should be able to resolve. At the moment my printer is just stuck in Service Mode and 5105.exe does not launch the GUI for me to do the resetting, etc.
B200 is a printhead failure and printer will not print eeprom data (or anything) with such error, that is why you getting 009, also I`m not sure that this issue can be solved by software means. As for the application not starting I still think that the problem is with security software but I could not say more without additional information.
I have had this Pixma G4200 bulk tank all-in -one for less than 18 months and it will not print, scan, copy or anything! Error Code displayed is 5B00. Canon Tech indicated it was an issue with the print carridge sensor and that my only option was to upgrade to a new printer. Online searches for this error code seemed to all indicate it was an absorber pad full issue. What good is saving $$ with bulk tank ink when the printer itself self destructs before using all the ink supplied?
Anyone had any luck at all with this? bought one may last year and it wont do anything now because of the 5b00 error. Tried all the recommended fixes with booting into service mode, hitting stop 5 & 6 times, tried the reset tool. No love.
I ended up with the same feedback from Canon: there is no work around. They offered a discounted price a G4210 which was about $15 lower than I could have gotten at Best Buy. No thanks. I paid more for the G4200 with the assumption I was getting better quality and would save on ink over the long haul. It lasted 26 months.
I need a service tool that is compatible with Canon MG2560 printer to reset ink overflow error 5B00. I have seen reference to V3800 but cannot find. It would be great if someone could help with sourcing this or equivalent.
I suppose that now that a week has passed without any response I can be pretty safe to conclude that there is no suitable service tool available for this printer. That being the case I will shortly tear down the printer and salvage any reusable bits I find. It seems a shame that the printer is totally serviceable apart from the virtual self destruct time bomb that Canon has built into its firmware.
Since 5B00 is for waste ink, do not reset the counter until it has been fixed. Consumer inkjets like this don't give much room (if any) to budge between the error and reserve pad to account for end user resetting.
@timbergetter Canon got smart a few years ago and moved to cloud based logins (PRO series), or a special license (consumer/Maxify). V3800 looks to potentially be cloud or license based, with 3400 being the last local one :/. You may need to get a 3rd party tool.
It's based on the mL capacity of the pads, with firmware tracking. If you use 5mL and that's 1%, it counts 1%. As far as scans work now for me, I use a ScanJet G4050 and I have a ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 (I got this for the ADF with how cheap it was) on the way :-). I don't miss my used printers as a scanner model. When my MG2120 died, I bought my G4050. Like, seriously the 2500 f1 has a maintenance kit for the ADF. That's the stuff I wish was modular on AIO printers. It ain't cheap at $79, but the fact if my 2500 f1 does need it in the future I can swap it.
I've been looking everywhere but still no luck. I own this printer Canon Pixma IX6810 (A3+ size printing), I need to enter service mode but can't find a way to do so. Service mode takes place using specific series of button presses on the printer, then special software is used to access special configurations on the printer. I've been able to do this on several Canon printers that I have owned, but not for the IX6810. It's not a common printer, it seems it was mostly sold on South America.
Some Canon printers can be reset and both counters brought back to zero, I've done this many times with diff Canon printers, but no luck with the IX6810. Can't find the specific series of button presses and the specific software. Searching the web provided me lots of "results" but when testing... it didn't work.
I love this printer. It has some issue (a common Canon printing issue producing distorted black PGBK prints) but there is a workaround, not a fix). Besides resetting the counters of the printer I would also like to test if that issue can be fixed on service mode. I have tried service tool ST 4905 (supposedly the one for this printer) with no luck.
Found several articles, tutorials and posts on the web from techs and owners stating it's impossible, they couldn't do it. Also found testimonials from owners saying they tried ABCDE... etc tools and failed to work. Found info explaining if you use the wrong version of the reset tool, the board/memory becomes unusable or impossible to reset (some say impossible, others say unusable), in my case the printer works, it's still useful so the "unusable" thing is not what it happened to me as the printer still works.
So really, after really trying, I would like to honestly discourage anyone wanting to do the same, the amount of time needed is not worth it and still no results. It's not "I give up", it's my honest answer, something I would have loved to find time ago to save me from trying with no luck.
If, like me, you still have a Canon Pixma MG6150 all-in-one printer, and have used it a lot, you may have started getting error messages saying that the ink absorber is almost full and that you need to contact the service centre.
This error came out of the blue. When the On button is pressed, the green light flashes and after a time both the Resume button and On button flash alternately. No amount of un and replugging the power and USB cables makes any difference. Drivers reinstalled.
I found a simplified service manual which has a list of all the error codes, and also describes how to take the printer apart here.
According to the service manual, error 6C10 is a valve cam sensor error, not an ink absorber error as suggested in many places on the Internet including here.
Computer 3 - works. Lenovo LT, rebuilt WIN10 upgraded to WIN 11. After a lot of trial and error, I finally got the scanner to work. It was a very trying time, and I am really sure I have tried all the same steps on Computer 1.
On computer 3, I was running into the same issue, and somewhere I found an article that said that the Scanner only works with 32 bit driver and software. I let the installer select 64 bit first then installed the 32 bit, while leaving 64 bit also installed and the software at 32 bit. Also used the canon registry repair tool. And finally the scanner worked.
