I'm hoping you can help me with a Slideshow Gallery. It works and renders fine on the computer but the images crop on a mobile, the full width of the image doesnt show. I tried fixing this with the width:100% attribute suggested in some other posts but it leaves a huge gap below the image. Here is a link to the page with the slideshow gallery, scroll down a bit to find it. I want to retain the full-bleed slideshow gallery on the computer, just need the image to resize for mobile.
Thanks for providing the code. I tried using this in the Design -> Custom CSS section and unfortunately it didn't work on the mobile screen. The slideshow gallery is still getting cropped. What might be the issue?
I have a gallery slideshow on my home page that I want to serve as a product advertisement slideshow. For example, on photoshop, I will create images with text on them about bundles (buy 1 get 1 free) & other types of promotions in my store, but I don't want the gallery to crop out any parts of my image when it's viewed on different computers or mobile/tablet view.
I did try all three options of the Gallery slideshow: simple, full, & reel. They all still crop my images when viewed in mobile/tablet mode & only display the center of my images. I just want it to resize my image automatically so the full image shows at all times no matter what device its being viewed on.
I've seen this code a few times and it just isn't doing it for me. This seems like such a frustratingly wrong scenario - I'm fine with Squarespace cropping these "background" images on mobile, but on a gallery slideshow? Doesn't make sense.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong with this code? My slideshow is not set to full bleed if that info is useful. I want my slideshow to fit to width of mobile browser rather than manually adjust the height to bodge it if possible.
I'm suffering with the same issue. My site is -pepper-4zr2.squarespace.com (password: testtest). I've got a full bleed slideshow on the homepage - all the original images are the same size and I want to ensure they don't crop at all.
I also don't understand why there is no function to click and view a photo at full resolution. Hence why I'm forcing myself to use a full-bleed slideshow to maximize image quality, independent of device.
A while ago I created a desktop slideshow in Shotwell I think. I wanted to change the slideshow. The pictures in the slideshow are not featured in the appearances menu under system settings. the demo screen in the appearances menu shows an image from a new slideshow I created in Shotwell, but I'm not able to see that image on my desktop.
The appearance folders available do not contain the images from the slideshow. The only program I have found that allows you to create a custom desktop slideshow is Shotwell. I figured, that must be how I can replace the old slideshow.
I used Shotwell to create a new desktop slideshow. I cannot see the new slideshow, the old slideshow is still there. I can't figure out how to replace the old slideshow with the new one. Any ideas? It overrides everything. Using Ubuntu 14.04.
Also, Shotwell isn't the only program for creating slideshows. It's a common knowledge in Ubuntu world that slideshows are .xml files. For instance, I personally used this for creating command-line utility for creating a slideshow: You could potentially use that as alternative to Shotwell
Shotwell does offer a function to create a wallpaper slideshow, but there seems to be a bug in that feature: the created wallpaper.xml file is not valid. The tag is missing from its start. To resolve this:
To activate autoplay, just add the autoplay: true option to the attribute. You can also set the interval in milliseconds between switching slides using autoplay-interval: 6000. To pause autoplay when hovering the slideshow, use pause-on-hover: true.
The slideshow always takes up the full width of its parent container. The height adapts according to the defined ratio. To change the default ratio of 16:9, just add the ratio option to the attribute. It's recommended to use the same ratio as the background images. For example, just use their width and height, like 1600:1200.
Adding the uk-height-viewport attribute from the Height component to the list of slideshow items will stretch the height to fill the whole viewport. You can set the min-height option to define a minimum height.
To navigate through your slides, just use the uk-slideshow-item attribute. To target the slides, set the attribute of every nav item to the index number of the respective slideshow item. The elements with the uk-slideshow-item attribute need to be inside the uk-slideshow container. Setting the attribute to next and previous will switch to the adjacent slides.
The flexibility of the Slideshow component allows you to use any of the other UIkit components to navigate through items. For example the Slidenav, Dotnav and Thumbnav components can be used to style the slideshow navigations.
If there is no item specific content in the navigation items, you can also add the .uk-slideshow-nav class instead of adding navigation items manually. It will generate its items automatically using
The slideshow is not restricted to images. Other media, like videos, can be positioned in the background of each slide using the uk-cover attribute from the Cover component. Videos are muted, and play automatically. The video will pause whenever it's not visible, and resume once it becomes visible again.
Add the uk-slideshow-parallax attribute to any element inside the slides to animate it together with the slideshow animation. Add an option with the desired animation values for each CSS property you want to animate. Define at least one start and end value. It can be done by passing two values separated by a comma.
This functionality is inherited from the Parallax component, and it allows animating CSS properties depending on the scroll position of the slideshow animation. Take a look at the possible properties that can be animated.
The parallax attribute can be used to add additional effects to the slideshow animations. In the following example the push animation is extended by dimming out and scaling down the image when it's sliding out.
Transition classes from the Transition component are triggered automatically inside slides. Contrary to the parallax effect, transitions are not attached to the slideshow animation and start playing independently after the slideshow animation.
I know this is a decades-old cottage industry, the consumer picture slideshow market, and I know the players, both bigger software houses, and smaller international software publishers with small niche products that do the job for consumer photo slideshows.
regarding transitions - an alternate way of adding one is to use a short glitch or light leak .mp4, and position it straddling two videos or jpgs which are on the track below the mp4, then applying a screen filter and maybe some fades to the trans clip. But how can i replicate that action on, say, 100 vid clips, or 20 photos? if it possible to import that short mp3 light leak into the standard area where stock shotcut transitions are applied from-- say when using the slideshow wizard-- and then multi-apply it that way? or some other mass-paste way? thank you
I use Bongo plugin and Power Director 15 video editor to make video animations. The Power Director has a built-in screen recorder which can easily turn the snapshot slideshow into a video. All I have to do is to start the screen recorder, run the snapshot slideshow, and stop the screen recorder.
I often create custom slideshows, and this is the first time I hear about this program. There are more than 1000 programs on the market for photo and video editors, but finding something suitable for you is challenging. Everyone has their preferences in the field of video editing and photo editing. Video processing is much easier than photo processing and slideshow creation. To create a high-quality and effective slideshow, you need a slideshow maker.
