Free the Children--We Are Silent

Hey Homeroom Reps!
Student Council is planning to do a We Are Silent Day, to fundraise and raise awareness about Free the Children on May 30th. Basically, students try to stay silent for 24 hours on May 30th, and collect pledges and get their parents and friends to sponsor them (example: your mom will donate $2 for every hour you stay silent, and your uncle will donate $50 as long as you try). Your job as a rep is to find out how many people are interested in this event, so Student Council knows how many pledge forms to give out. Let your homerooms know that your teachers WILL be notified on this day; so they do not have to worry about losing participation points or things like that.

Hi Homeroom Reps!

Just a quick reminder to PLEASE fill out this form. If you have counted your class today, please fill it out today ASAP.

If not, please remember to count your class TOMORROW during 2nd period and come to Room 33 tomorrow at BRUNCH to record your counts with me. This is because Leadership needs the counts to make copies during 4th period tomorrow.

We Are Silent is supporting Free the Children in 2 ways (please tell your homeroom this):

1. We are staying silent to represent and raise awareness about all the youth in the world who are forced to labor endless hours and do not have a voice in their life.

2. We are collecting pledges and donations to support our water project in the village Totoras, Ecuador, so that children do not have to miss out on education just to collect water for their families. If the children are educated, they are much less likely to be sold into child labor because they can make educated decisions and have more job opportunities.

Thank you so much for all your help! Remember, if you did not count your homeroom today, please count your homeroom tomorrow and come to Room 33 at BRUNCH tomorrow to record with me.
