Working with a team that includes the Executive Director and Senior Energy Program Manager, the Energy and Climate Program Manager will work on a diverse portfolio of issues with a particular focus in the area of energy on topics such as energy efficiency in buildings, renewable energy, and alternative fuel vehicles and transportation. The position will conduct applied research to identify opportunities to make positive change at the local level that are impactful and achievable, and develop and implement assistance programs to help local governments put new programs into action.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public policy, urban planning, sustainability, engineering, public or business administration. Minimum of three years full-time work experience in a relevant field with increasing level of responsibility. Experience managing outreach programs, contracts or grant funded projects. Experience working with local governments or community organizations on sustainability issues preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate in presentations and reports. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to organize meetings, maintain diverse contact networks, and manage multiple priorities. Ability to learn quickly and work well in a fast-paced team environment.
