Sweet older dog needs a new home

Lucy needs a new home- see info below.  

Thank you for passing the word about Lucy.Her owner--a neighbor of mine--has dementia and has been relocated to a nursing home--and Lucy cannot go with her. The family can't keep Lucy. They found a foster home, but it is only temporary. Lucy will be going to the SPCA in a couple weeks unless someone adopts her first.

Lucy is about nine years old. (Her owner adopted her from the SPCA many years ago.) She is a sweet loving dog, a snuggle bunny who will sit quietly on a lap. She loves walks, walks beautifully on a leash, and played regularly with the owner's grandchildren. She is in perfect health and weighs 17 pounds. I've known her since her arrival in the 'hood, and would take her in a heartbeat myself, were it not for my 13-year-old dog (who does not like other dogs).
