LCMaking wine from vintage to vintage is very much like how it was making my first recordings. You learn more and more with each effort. I will add too that winemaking, like recording is very subjective. Some like a little more attack on the kick drum, just like some want a little more (or less these days) oak on their pinot; ten percent whole cluster or 8:1 compression on the vocals; Fender or Ferrer.

LC: The Rush guys have always been very generous with us in many ways. Back in the day, we would go to fancy dinners with those guys and they would order incredible bottles of expensive juice and dote over each glass. I was just a young pothead who would ignorantly slurp it down while quizzing Geddy about By-Tor.

I agree with Robert, Frizzle Fry is by far my favorite Primus album! It was a mainstay during high school. It also didn't suck that Primus played the Phoenix Theatre all the time down the road in Petaluma!

I was lucky enough to try some of the Claypool Pinot down in SF at the Pinot Days tasting and I was very impressed. I thought it might be a bottle of cheese with diamond back stergeon extract, but it was a damn fine wine!

Joe, you have really outdone yourself with this one. At the risk of getting skewered in this forum, I will say I've never really been that into Primus, but I totally respect the bass awesomeness that is Les Claypool.

The Pearl Roadshow drum set is a no-hassle, one-stop-shop kit for all budding drummers looking for their first drums. It gives you everything you need to set up and start playing the drums. You get a kick drum, a floor tom, a rack tom, a set of hi-hats, a crash cymbal, and a Pearl Roadshow Snare. With the Pearl Roadshow drum set

The Roadshow drum sets make sure that you are ready to rock when you get your kit. Pearl is synonymous with top-quality percussion, and they've included everything in this drum set. The Pearl Roadshow drum sets are also ready to be easily upgraded with additional cymbals, toms, and more, letting you expand your sounds as your playing progresses.

The Pearl Roadshow kits come with a perfectly paired Pearl Roadshow 13" snare drum. The Roadshow snare drums are matched in construction and finish to the rest of your Roadshow drum set, ensuring a great look and seamless tonal integration. These snare drums are designed to offer you a sound that's well rounded and equally adept at a variety of different styles.

Upgraded shells, hardware, and more make this Pearl Export EXX 5-piece drum set an upgraded version of one of the most popular and affordable drum kits around. Inspired by Pearl's Reference Series, this Export EXX kit's Superior Shell Technology (SST) uses a combination of strategically arranged plies of premium wood and proprietary construction techniques to offer you a durable shell that maximizes frequency response. The Opti-Loc mounting system keeps your toms wobble free while reinforcing the resonance of the kit.

The Pearl Export EXX 5-piece drum kit's poplar and Asian mahogany shells are constructed using Pearl's proprietary Superior Shell Technology. This construction method incorporates Pearl's trademarked Acoustiglue that is boiled into the shells and pressed at over 1,000 lbs. of hydraulic pressure, making the shell act and resonate as a single ply. SST uses precision-cut scarf joints to join the seams of the shells, offering over 800% more contact area than standard butt joints. This technology makes these drums so durable that they come with a limited-lifetime warranty from Pearl. To make these shells sound even better, Pearl outfitted them with new lugs that minimize shell interaction for maximum resonance and sustain.

Pearl Export EXX series Opti-Loc mounting system features a triangular design with two tension rod attachment points that hold your toms firmly in place with no wobble. Pearl places rubber isolators at all of the connection points to allow the shells to vibrate freely for more sustain and resonance. The Opti-Loc mounting system keeps your toms right where you need them and sounding their best, whether you're practicing at home or recording drum tracks at a studio.

Use the Pearl HA-100 hi-hat to bass attachment next to your kick pedal on double-bass setups for easy reach and fast pedal transitions. Non-marring rubber jaws rotate to fit the hoop contour for slip-proof clamping regardless of your kick drum's size. A cowbell-type eyebolt holds the knurled Z-rod for set-and-forget dependability. The newly designed round pivot bracket offers infinite adjustability. Includes the Pearl AX-20 stand clamp/adapter.

In addition to the reduced shell sizing, the Stage Custom Hip kit ships standard with a set of coated Remo UT batter heads - Ambassador toms and a Powerstroke P3 bass - to capture those warm, woody, full-bodied tones.

Drummers love maple drums. But if you've never experienced birch shells from behind the kit, you're in for a treat with the Yamaha Stage Custom Hip shell pack. Its 6-ply birch shells boast a lively attack with warm, clear overtones, which speak openly at both high and low registers. So whether you play hip-hop, dance, Americana, or jazz, this kit delivers.

Yamaha's YESS mounting allows the high tom of your Stage Custom Hip kit to vibrate freely however you position it. The YESS mount and included tom holder make minimal contact with the drum, keeping contact to the nodal point of the shell so as not to inhibit sustain. A nylon clamp bushing provides maximum stability. Even better - the YESS system won't interfere with head changes between sets and takes.

Roadshow's included hardware package is second-to-none in its price-point. All stands have heavy piping, height-adjustable tube joints, heavy double-braced legs, and multi-angle locking tilters to keep drums and cymbals in the right position every time.

Designed after Pearl's award-winning Eliminator pro pedal line, the Roadshow kick pedal's double-chain drive action and adjustability create smooth, effortless play.

Furthermore, the Roadshow system comes with a host of extras and interactive tools to help jump-start the first phase of your beat-building career.

With a matching shell and finish, the Roadshow snare is full of attack and power, yet sensitive enough for drumming at any volume.

Roadshow's kick drum has an extended tension/tuning range, for thumping bass frequencies you can feel in your chest.

Gretsch Energy kits come with everything you need to get playing, including all stands and pedals and even a Paiste 101 cymbal set. Cymbals are often the weakest point on starter drum kits so knowing you are getting a quality set of cymbals from a company like Paiste does offer peace of mind and can often save you money in the long run as you are unlikely to ever wear through these well made cymbals.

Gretsch Energy drum kits now have even more of the features you would expect to find on a Gretsch kit and more of that famous Gretsch sound! With double braced hardware 7 ply poplar shells with 30 degree bearing edges and Remo heads supplied as standard, Gretsch are not cutting corners when it comes to this kit.

Gretsch Energy shells are engineered from 7 plys of premium poplar. A 30 degree bearing edge gives Gretsch Energy drum kits a warm vintage style to their tone. Each shell is finished off with a 1.6mm triple flanged hoop or in the case of the bass drum a matching wood hoop.

Double braced hardware throughout provides stability and durability to give you complete confidence in your setup. Unlike many kits at this price range Energy Series kits come with everything you might need, including a stool and kick pedal.

If you plan to transport your drums in the future a good set of cases or bags is a must. Save 5% when buying at the same time as your kit. Click the link above to check out our massive range of cases here.

It is a 5-piece kit comprised of a 22" kick drum, 14" snare, 16" floor tom, and 12" & 13" rack toms. These standard sizes make the DK7500 suitable for all styles of music and help provide students with a well-rounded experience in the art of drumming. 6-ply poplar shell construction is designed to be durable enough for aggressive playing, yet light enough for lively tone and easy tuning.

Cymbals are included in the form of a 16" ride and 14" set of hi-hats, each paired with a double-braced stand. The snare drum stand is also double-braced. Supplied accessories include a drum throne, kick drum pedal, drum key, and 15.5" Birch drumsticks.

Pt-nat lovers kicked off the weekend with lots of bubbles at the Pt Project Happy Hour. This lively event hosted at their winemaking facility included sips of all the newly released pt-nats (natural sparkling wines), French-picnic-style small bites, and feel-good tunes.

Rotie Cellars hosted members all weekend for tastings of their newly released wines and wood-fired pizza from the Fiasco Pizza truck. Spring tastings were complimentary (as was the pizza) for club members, with full seated tastings available upstairs to members and nonmembers.
