On the Old Computer
You need a USB memory stick!
Download and install either MR8 or DR8 (which
ever you were running onto the old machine) from the
"www.milkroundsoftware.co.uk".
Put memory stick in to a USB socket.
In the MR8/DR8 system go into top left menu on
front page and click (MR8 = Milk Round System or DR8 = Dairy
System).
Click on Define Data and Backup Folders, In the middle box
(Backup Folder) click on Browse. Click on the memory stick then
click on OK. A Letter (perhaps "F:\") will show in the middle box.
Click Exit.
Again click (MR8 = Milk Round System or DR8 = Dairy System) then click Full Backup on F:\data\. This will transfer all your data to the memory stick. You will see the files being transferred to the memory stick.
At the bottom right of the PC screen you will see
an icon with a green arrow pointing left. If you right click this
it will say something like Safely Remove Hardware - Left click
this icon.
Remove memory stick.
On the New Computer
Install either MR8 or DR8 (which ever you were
running on the old machine) from the
"www.milkroundsoftware.co.uk". Start it up then close it down.
Put memory stick in to a USB socket.
Go to My Computer - open up the memory stick right click on the folder "data" and left click "Copy".
Go to My Computer - open up C:\MR folder (DONOT
go into data).
Right Click on some blank space within the big
window (where you will see filenames) then left click "Paste".
You will see the files being transferred from the stick disk. When
asked do you want to overwrite files with the same name answer
yes!
Restart MR8_for_win. If the system opens in the wrong week go to Secondary Functions – Select Current Week File Select the week you wish to be current and click the Open button.
Users operating on an "Edongle" will have to contact Steve to get the new computer authorised.
