How to create and update MilX-Shares

Question:
We got contacted by multiple users with the following question: Since the latest update it is unclear how to generate a MilX-Share to share military maps using a simple link on https://www.map.army .

New Workflow:
In the latest version of the web application, we have improved the MilX-Share handling to provide a new way to collaborate in a team. Please follow these steps to create a MilX-Share:


Create new MilX-Share:

1. Open ‘Layers’ menu and select ‘Share Military Map’
2. Select ‘Create new MilX-Share ...’.
3. Select one of the MilX-Share Link type (Read Only / Edit & Copy / Edit & Overwrite) to share your military map in your team or to publish it.

Update MilX-Share:

1. Open ‘Layers’ menu
2. Select ‘MilX Share details (show/hide)’ to get detail information on the MilX-Share
3. Press the ‘Save Button’ in the ‘Shared MilX Layer’ section to update the MilX-Share. This function creates a new version of the existing MilX-Share

Load specific version of MilX-Share:

1. Open ‘Layers’ menu
2. Select ‘MilX Share details (show/hide)’
3. Go to ‘Load specific version’. Select the version from the list and press ‘Load’

Notification if new version of MilX-Share is available

1. Open ‘Layers’ menu
2. Activate the ‘Activate to check whether a new version ...’ in the ‘Shared MilX Layers’ section.
3. If the function is active, you will be notified in the bottom right of the main window if a new version of the MilX-Share is available.

Hint: The MilX-Share logic described above works for 2D and 3D maps.
