Hello im trying run a private game for some friends and adding this image through local image layers. Saving it as JSON like the program says for future instant overlay use. And when i try to load up the JSON form it doesnt show up at all.

(heres the image im trying to save as a json, and then doesnt load up)

If im doing it wrong is there still a way to save a custom image without real geographic coordinates and have it show up in the same distances i want to without having to manually set it up?

Thanks.

Hi Aggelos

Thank you for your message and great to hear that you are using https://www.map.army.
We are currently working on an improvement of Vector- and Image-Overlays. This will include the option to add overlays from online sources and include them into shared projects. The new version of https://www.map.army will be online by the end of this week.

Regarding your question:
The json file is required in combination with the image overlay. So, in total you will have two files:
map.army-Json-for-ImageOverlay.jpg

Follow these steps to create an Image-Overlay in https://www.map.army:
  1. Select Images Folder (please use an empty folder):
    map.army-SelectFolder-for-ImageOverlay.jpg

  2. Place the Image (your map in the PNG format) in the folder selected in step 1.
  3. Select the image and place it onto the map:
    map.army-PlaceImageOverlay.gif

To load an existing Image-Overlay follow these steps:
map.army-LoadImageOverlay.gif

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have further questions on https://www.map.army.

Kind regards
Martin from the map.army team
