I thought I'd create a generic thread to cover off the issues being encountered on the 2015 Bravia Android TVs. I've listed my issues below with fixes / workarounds and responses from support. All comments and solutions welcome!
3) Netflix App doesn't work - this seems like the app has been deliberately disabled. So far a support case has only recommended that a factory reset be performed (took two days to get to that cracking piece of advice.....), with no improvement as a result. A temporary (albeit for advanced users only) workaround is provided by MikeLothian on this thread - -support-for-kd55x8509c-android-tv/td-p/1945360
4) Sound lag and performance issues after the TV (KD-49X8305C) has been on standby for a while - manifested for me as stuttering and sound / picture sync issues in all apps (youtube, amazon instant video etc) and HDMI sources (PS4, seperate YouView box etc). Hopefully this will be fixed in a firmware update, at the moment workarounds involve either changing channels to get the sync to work or in my case having to turn the TV off and then on again at the socket.
As stated previously, all comments welcome. Personally I'm willing to give Sony a couple of weeks to fix this, but if it's not done soon I'll be sending my new TV back for a refund as it's not really fit for purpose.
The big ticket items for me is DTS passthrough, Netflix with Dolby Digital, a 3D option that works in things like YouTube and other video players and stability fixes - the whole TV seems rather unpolished and buggy
I am very miffed with Sony at this time, and as the customer of this item, once they have our money, they then inform us that we have to wait for updates to be released for many things to function on the TV.
Having waited 6 weeks for delivery I was hoping the Sony Android TV KD-49x8309c would meet all of my expectations, however I am extremely disappointed from first impressions and am considering returning it as not fit for purpose. It's such a great looking TV and picture so I'm reluctant to do that. My main concerns are the lack of Record facility and no Netflix as these were key factors in making my purchase and these were confirmed as available on this model by the retailer. The information in this thread has already covered these points, so it looks as if it's a case of waiting. I'm also disappointed with the lack of apps. I expected to be able to make use of the full range of apps on the Play store , but it appears only Sony approved apps can be used and the current selection is poor, so this does not bode well for an Android device given the marketing hype.
Having got my hands on the TV I am concerned about a few other things now, mainly around the satellite channel editor, which is very frustrating and almost unusable. Scrolling the list is a nightmare and my set is crashing and rebooting if I overdo the scrolling, which seems to require single button presses to navigate the list. It also reinserts some of the services that I've deleted as not required! The deleted channels appear as no service in the list, but they still appear in the program guide, which is really unwanted. To explain, I'm trying to edit the unrequired channels out of the satellite list and guide, but I'm having difficulty and the documentation does not seem to cover this.
There is a Preferred Satellite option which I was hoping would load the preset channels for Freesat, but pressing this just takes me to the satellite set up menu again , but there's no option to select Preferred or General satellite tuning, again not mentioned in the documentation, however I did see a procedure for this in a support message. It just doesn't work with my TV. If anyone has experienced similar problems or has a solutions for these problems, then help would be appreciated.
Strober25. I also have mine hooked up to the satellite feeds but past the initial tuning I've not really had time to investigate. I did however notice several hundred channels which I would also like to delete so will try this over the weekend.
1. You cannot page up or down through the TV guide - holding down the up/down arrows does allow quick scrolling however this occasionally lags to the detriment of zooming past the desired location when it catches up.
2. I've had official complaint from the wife about the SD picture being 'horrible and grainy' and it is. HD/4K is stunning but not SD. No matter what I select in picture setup I cannot solve. Anyone else noticed this, BBC 1 Eastenders was the sample I looked at? Obviously you have to be close (1m) from the set to really see it but my 2011 46" LCD never looked this bad. Faces appear grainy and occasionally have many small horizontal lines around the silhouette of a person/object. May be I need to reboot (again)?
Usually "Videos" allows me to switch and it works 50% of the time - usualy have to flick between the modes a few times for it to switch over to 3D, if I get it working in "Videos" then it just works in VLC but the 3D option disappears from the menu, in Kodi there's no 3D options and the TV doesn't switch to 3D at all but the app is really good at figuring out if it's 3D content and will display it's GUI in 3D too (so shows as SBS)
Still struggling with your shooting 4K video won't play on other devices or playing with audio and video out of sync? Wondershare UniConverter helps you out! Find your issues and get the full answer now.
Click on the Audio tab on the new editing window. Next, go to the Master Audio Sync section, and manage the synchronization. Check the changes in the preview section. Once all is set and clear, click on OK
At the bottom part of the interface, click the Output Format option to change the file type of Netflix clip. Next, select the File Location tab and choose a new destination on your desktop. Finally, click Save to initiate the processing, which will be completed depending on the size of the video.
Originally, I had "purple screen - HDCP erros" between the Roku Ultra and an expensive LG OLED TV that required disconnecting HDMI cables, swapping them, the ports I used, and powering off equipment - until I gave up and called for a replacement "Ultra" STB. Roku relectantly replaced it - only to have the same problems (which I suspect they know about). I eventualy gave up on the Ultra insisting that I get my exercise every night doing this nonsense and decided that a 4K Streaming Stick would eliminate the need for multiple HDMI cables that Roku Support suggested I change out.
The stick solved the HDCP issues; however the Audio Sync issues became the concern - and has been / still is present on EACH and EVERY Roku streamer / device / TV. Roku Support plays the same response to everyone: "What is the model, serial number, blah, blah, blah.." I haven't seen anyone say their problem has been fixed - instead, they just stop posting and complaining because they've come to realize that Roku doesnt have a permanent, workable fix! News flash - these same problems exist for Chromcast and Fire TV too.
Roku Support strings evetyone along by suggesting there is a fix - but they need 'more information" (a.k.a. time) to have their engineers look at YOUR problem (it is unique - no one else is having your problem!). They do this until the warranty return window for the streamer / device / TV has closed. Roku has been doing this for YEARS and it has likely become part of its mission statement. Its frustrating but it is what it is.
If my sync problem can't be fixed, using HDMI eARC, I'm sending back my new ROKU TV that not a week old. I'm not going threw these 4 steps every time I change a channel or switch from TV to streaming. This is BS.
I am experiencing the audio delay issue with my new Roku TV 50R4A5R/50R4AX. I am hearing impaired and using a Phonak TV streamer connected via optical port and the sound coming from the TV speakers is out of sync with the sound from the streamer. I'll be returning the TV and trying one with a different OS.
@tnamouz @AnkerSupport I am experiencing the same issue as the posters above. I received my SoundBuds yesterday and they work flawlessly on my phone (Samsung s9) for music, gaming and video. I tried them today with my MacBook Pro and noticed that the sound was about 2 seconds ahead of the video playback in Youtube. I tried deleting the Bluetooth profile, resetting the headphones and refreshing the page a number of times but I continue to have the sync issue. The work-arounds listed above have not worked for me. I have other Bluetooth headsets that have worked fine with my MacBook. Is there a fix for this issue yet or should I reach out for a replacement pair?
I got my Anker Slim + yesterday and have found the same problem. The video lags behind the audio by a few seconds. The lag happens when I use my macbook pro on several websites. However, there is no lag between audio and video when I use my phone ( Moto G4). I have tried deleting the bluetooth profile from my macbook as some of you suggested but it did not fix the problem.
I open Netflix or whatever, press play, The audio starts whilst the video stays frozen, and then the video starts but theres a 2-3 second delay between the audio playing and the video starting which continues throughout. Same issue on both my iphone 7 and ipad mini. Netflix, Prime video, Youtube all behave the same.
I just got the Soundbuds Slim + because my old soundbuds broke. My old ones worked fine on my Mac but the new ones have they same video delay issue. I took me a while to find this forum, because usually the audio is delayed not the video with bluetooth headphones. It works fine on my ipad though.
Hi . Yesterday i have purchased my New Anker Soundbuds slim + with 18 months warranty.
I have experiencing the same problem with online videos (netflix, youtube, facebook etc) . Video lags behind the audio. I the starting video hangs for sometime and the audio continues to play then video start playing and in this way video lags behind the audio even i have tried with 4 phones and laptop but problem remains the same. Whats the solution for this. Kindly solve this with firmware update or something else. Becuase 25 dollars are not little amount. You could have solve this via update thorugh your app.
