Did some research on how to opt out of the Dropbox Beta, since I hate the new system hierarchy. Went to settings, turned "early Releases" off, signed out Dropbox, uninstalled the application, reinstalled Dropbox, signed in. Trouble is, there are still nagging bits of the beta version lurking. Trash can now deletes immediately and permanently (instead of staying there until I decide to empty it). And I can not get directly to my folders from my dock shortcuts. I am running an iMac on OS 12.5.1. Is there a more complete way to step backwards from the beta version? Help!
I've been a long time user of 1PW. I'm now on v6. I use it at home with family pack and at work. I'm trying to setup vaults to share home logins at work and vice versa. But as I poke into the current configuration I'm finding strange setups. I have two dropbox accounts, one for home and one for work.
At work, I looked in my work dropbox folder. No 1Password folder exists in there. Yes I'm configured in Preferences > Sync to using Dropbox sync but what it points to is located in /Users/me/Documents/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain. Also in that folder is a 1PW Backups folder and a Backups folder. How can sync occur via Dropbox and those files not be in the dropbox folder? I looked at my account on dropbox and no 1PW files exist there.
At home, I looked in my home dropbox folder and there is a 1Password folder in there. It contains the 1Password.agilekeychain. So I think that looks ok and normal. But should there be backup folders there?
In addition, in my dropbox folder is a file at the top level unchanged since Sept 2010 called .ws.agile.1Password.settings. I think that is from an old version of 1PW. Please confirm and I'll toss it.
I hear that v6 now stores database in Library. If all the confusing aspects of files is documented that make up 1PW app, please point me to it. Else please describe what should and shouldn't live in the dropbox folder and where the agilekeychain can or should live. It's all so confusing when you change file locations and don't have clear docs on where and what should exist.
I should add that when I looked in the history of dropbox at work, I found evidence about mid March of the 1Password folder being deleted. I vaguely recall being prompted to do so when I was trying to move my 1PW data from dropbox to my local computer because I wasn't syncing my work 1PW with anything. So maybe I didn't do that move from the cloud completely or correctly.
I now do want to sync via my work dropbox, as I want to make it available as a vault at home. I was told I can do that by sharing my work 1Password.agilekeychain file in an email msg to my home email address. Then at home, share my 1Password.agilekeychain file in an email msg to my work email address. Then create a 2nd vault at work and at home, go into Prefs > Sync and select the appropriate vault (after the dropbox Share request is accepted) and select the vault.
brenty, I described where my data is. So I must not understand your question. I had an appointment call a couple days ago with one of your mates. So I think I know how to set things up for sharing vaults. But when I went in to look at my dropbox data, I found unexpected files and locations. So now this post. This is more about what files should be where.
So my more pressing issue is what to do with my work setup. I'll state again... As I recall, 1PW at work was sync'd to my work dropbox account. I realized I didn't need that back in March (because I don't sync it with any other devices) so I did something (don't recall) that caused the 1Password folder and it's contents in my work dropbox to be removed. However, when I go in and look at my 1PW preferences > Sync I see sync is still set to dropbox. This makes no sense to me since there is no dropbox files/folders related to 1PW usage in my work dropbox account. Instead my 1Password folder is as previously stated, in my /users/me/Documents/1Password folder.
Why does Agilebits make this so confusing? is the data in /Library or is it in the 1Password folder? Can I move it around? How do I get it back into dropbox, particularly now that it is still thinking it is sync'd with dropbox?
I looked in my /Library/Application Support folder and there is only one folder in there called 1Password 4. It doesn't appear to be updating it since March when the data was removed from dropbox and put into documents folder on my local computer at work.
If you use 1Password purchased from the Mac App Store, then it stores your database (the primary copy of your 1Password data), and backups here:
/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/
Hi guys. Does anyone know what the download limitations for dropbox advanced business with 3 users are? I am thinking of using Dropbox but the documentation is a bit confusing. There's information about uploading (maximum sizes, payloads, api, request calls etc) but there's nothing about downloading. Not from what I can see at least. With Workspace Google you know that daily you have 750gb upload per user and 5-10tb download. What are the limitation for Dropbox? Not talking about sharing links, dropbox transfer etc, but internally within the organization.
Both scenarios however suffer from the same issue:
* if you synchronize (save) the database at the exact same time dropbox will synchronize only one of the databases and will create a conflict copy on Dropbox, regardless of whether you edited the same key or different ones.

For eons I have stored my arduino sketchbooks on my local computer harddrives. But recently I was introduced dropbox.com and its apps. You can create a dropbox folder and see all the files in dropbox on all your computers and devices (tablets and phones). It's neat. I wonder if anyone is storing their sketchbook folder in dropbox. I'm only doing this for the less serious projects that have their code spread out on multiple computers and keep my main sketchbook on my main computer on local drive.
One of the strings attached is that the Dropbox folder has to be in the CloudStorage location and cannot be moved to a custom location. OneDrive has a workaround for this but Dropbox not yet. There was a Tidbits thread about this here.
Recently, I decided to make some of my dropbox files online only thinking this would reduce my hard drive space as I have done before with success. What happened is that I LOST disk space. Could anyone explain how this dilemma could happen? I lost 8 gigs of space instead of adding to my free space on my internal HD. Thank you. If I need to post this topic as new, please let me know.
I use a lot of emojis to name folders and files, in addition to the ones I write in my notes. I use the plugin Emoji Toolbar to select them. So, I know that the major problem is if you use dropbox to sync notes, but I use Google Drive.
Apart from that, in a long run, am I getting much risks with this emoji usage? Like losing data, or breaking links between notes.
If you are using this mode then using "rclone check" after thetransfer completes is recommended. Or you could do an initial transferwith --dropbox-batch-mode async then do a final transfer with--dropbox-batch-mode sync (the default).
Note that if you want to use impersonate, you should make sure thisflag is set when running "rclone config" as this will cause rclone torequest the "members.read" scope which it won't normally. This isneeded to lookup a members email address into the internal ID thatdropbox uses in the API.
If you have more than 10,000 files in a directory then rclone purge dropbox:dir will return the error Failed to purge: There are too many files involved in this operation. As a work-around do anrclone delete dropbox:dir followed by an rclone rmdir dropbox:dir.
When using rclone link you'll need to set --expire if using anon-personal account otherwise the visibility may not be correct.(Note that --expire isn't supported on personal accounts). See theforum discussion and thedropbox SDK issue.
Is there anyway to get this to accept the files already in my folder. As back ground, I had a Windows install and my dropbox folder was fully in sync. I'm moved to unraid and added this docker. I moved the full dropbox folder to a drive in my array with a dedicated share. The full folder is intact. Once the docker was running, pointed to the right folder and linked it attempts to sync and begins to download all files overwriting all existing files. I have a 5mb connection and its trying to download 1.5TB of data that is already there. Any idea whats going on and how to stop it downloading all existing files? There will be a few updates to upload and a few new files to download but 200 of each, max. Maybe about 50 files to update.
When I login, I can see the app panel populating, and the dropbox icon does indeed appear (config'd as startup application), but after some other icons show up (bluetooth, battery, etc.) it's gone. It's still running though.
I ended up installing the dropbox-tray package through Synaptic Package Manager from Lihis.net and installed new indicator icons icons. Worked like charm. Sadly I don't know what went wrong in the first place, since it used to work.
