I have an Oculus Quest 2 with the link cable along with virtual desktop installed on my PC. I can see Enscape on Sketchup with Virtual desktop but get a searching for head mounted display when I select the VR icon. I don't want to deal with the hassle of side quest. Anyone got any tips? I saw someone posted to change the Oculus app to allow unknown devices but I do not see that anywhere on either the phone or the headset settings. Do I need to use virtual desktop to have an immersive experience

If you think of the Quest 2 as a game console, it's a fantastic little game and experience machine. It might even be my second-favorite game console right now next to the Nintendo Switch. But if you imagine it fulfilling needs for work and the rest of your life, it raises deeper questions and complications.

Besides whatever concerns about Facebook and data you may have, there's also the question of how open Meta will allow its VR universe to be. While the Quest connects easily with PCs, what about the future of phones? How will the Quest dovetail with the apps we use every day? Right now, it doesn't. Mark Zuckerberg keeps pledging that the Quest's future will be open. But the future ahead will be about phones and tablets that plug into VR and AR, and the Quest needs to find a way to be part of that future, too.

[Update, 3:30 p.m. ET: Since this article went live, we've seen infrared camera footage from Tested confirming an identical number of LED bulbs in both generations of Quest controllers, which puts Facebook's original statement into question. The FB rep may have been describing a downgrade in frequency or power for those LED bulbs in Quest 2 controllers.]

Forgot to respond, but I ended up solving it by doing as mentioned above and also in the Game Instance I use the Check Android Permissions blueprint to see if the app has the permissions, if not use the Request Android Permissions to set them.

I am currently developing a small app for oculus quest 2, using Unity. I've created a canvas, in which I've added a button and an InputField. By using the XR Interaction Toolkit, I am able to click on the button or the InputField with both of my controllers. However, it's still impossible to type anything into the InputField because when I click on it, any keyboard opens.
