All,

I've updated my graphical classification banner script (similar to Microsoft's NetBanner) to deal with resolution changes and multiple monitors.

   https://github.com/RedHatGov/classification-banner

I'd appreciate any testing and feedback that anyone can give me.  So far, I've tried it on a variety of window managers and VM instances - I ran into the issue with a SPICE client dynamically changing the resolution of the display and leaving "atrifact" banners on the display after resolution changes.  I've also updated some of the screen detection algorithms to display the banner only on the main display (again similar to behaviour of NetBanner).

Thanks in advance for any feedback and help.

Regards,

We are setting up some banners on our RHEL 6.x systems and we want them at the absolute top of the screen and we do not want any xwindows or terminal sessions to open behind or even be allowed to go behind the banner, do you have any suggestions for reserving the banner space?  Thank you.

One "solution" I've used, while a bit clunky but can work, is to create a simple image the same size as the panel, say 1024x24, with just a red background and the text "SECRET" on it.  You can then set the background of the panel to use that image instead of a theme or solid color.  Not exactly elegant, but it gets the job done.
