ride report and weekend rides

Good ride last night with the aforementioned trundle up Shattered, with a fast and fun descent on Race of Spades (which has been cleaned up considerably and rides very fast now with fewer branches and trees in the way), with a connection at the bottom with the new Race of Hearts. It is a wide, very smooth trail that climbs for approximately 2/3 the distance of Shattered and serves as a good connector to Billy Dog/Family Guy at the top and has a connection to Race of Spades and Pneuma as well.

Not technical at all but will reduce traffic on Pneuma from the e-bike crowd. After ROH, we hopped over the road on to Family Guy and bombed it down with a somewhat tricky walk across the newly refreshed river. Both river crossings got your attention, at least for a skinny white guy like me. Beers in the parking lot as we toasted retirement for a seemingly long list of new retirees that did not include me and saw Mike off to his summer retreat on Flathead Lake. 

Re this weekend, lots of people away for the de facto long weekend so no ride posted for Sunday unless someone wants one added which I am happy to do. I am not available Sunday but will be attempting to get out Sat morning for a short (90 minute) ride around 8:30 so I can try to re-capture some fitness and not be the subject of pity at the back of each ride. I won't post this ride but if anyone is keen, just send me a note and I will provide details.
