to Mike's Epic Bike Rides
The weather forecast for Canmore on Sunday was bang on and this allowed for a really nice ride on tacky trails in 9 to 12 C temps. Our original plan was to to a tour of the Nordic Centre trails but a race was being held so we switched tactics and headed toward Highline.

A quick run from the NC parking lot to the base of Riders of Rohan where we grunted up the first piece to the intersection with Highline and headed east from there. Conditions were excellent on Highline until the first downhill portion where it got a bit muddy but not too serious. Cloudnine was in its usual firm condition and we hammered up there pretty good although Scott ruined it all by asking for directions at the intersection of the Middle Sister hiking trail. The direction givers, to be fair, were extremely cute.

On the descent we decided to stay on the single track connector at the bottom instead of heading hard left on the cut line. The single track down to Guy Lafleur was super fun and we headed left at the bottom and stayed left toward the housing development as the lower portion is pretty much gone now due to development.

We had hoped to connect with the usual single track north of the hydro corridor but that too is now closed for development. But, lots of fun heading west navigating stair cases and bike paths to get back to the road to the Nordic Centre with a short 10 minute grunt up the roadway.

3 hrs 25 min or so and a really great ride in the midst of some awful weather these days. Thursday weather this week looks better so clear your schedules and lets get out. More later.
