Dear Migrationaware group,

I am part of the Focus group discussion put together by CAFSO on irregular migration project last year. I am a returnee who need to settle down to continue life after my deportation. I hail from one of the states in the southwest, though with little education. I have been actively involved in this project one way or the other, though I refused to speak out. The reason for my not being outspoken then is the fear of stigmatization or being arrested by NATIP. I received assurance that NATIP cannot arrest like that. That I should talk.  I am writing because the organizer said I should write to this group even if I do not want to put my name there.

I told my story then to the audience but using third person citing examples of what actually happened to me as if it happened to another person. When I came back from Spain, I was living from hands to mouth depending on begging and other things to survive. I want to settle down. I don’t even have a place of my own where i live as i manage with friends. There are some of my colleagues like that who also want to settle down. But we don’t have the money.

Can CAFSO organize for us a house where people like us can be staying pending when things would be better for us? If we can get training in some buying and selling or specific skills that can be bringing us money, we shall like to attend such. If there is any one who want to help please contact me on openness...@yahoo.com. Such person must be sincere. I am fed up with “money for hand back for ground” type. I want to be serious and put the pieces of my life together.

Thank you,

Josephine.
