Dear Onoja,
Thanks for your response to our sms alert.

At the end of the day you discover that it isn't worth the effort to wanting to travel at all cost. You have observed rightly that some Nigerians find themselves overseas but could not remit money home simply because of taxes upon taxes that most of their money goes into.

It is also important to note that some of our youths migrate overseas without having enough informed information as to what awaits them over there; whether there is a job commensurate with their qualification. Which is why you see some of them as graduates washing corpses or toilets in white man's land.

That apart, have you thought of the precarious conditions that some of these irregular migrants undergo in the process of travelling without informed decision? Some travel by road and face the harsh desert weather including asphixiation and starvation. Some drink one another's urine for lack of water in the desert, apart from those who were eaten up by wild animals and those swindled.

Some who  travel by boat trying to cross to Spain, for example, sometimes have their boat capsized. While some that are sometimes lucky are sometimes not too lucky in the hands of security operates waiting for their boat at the other end of the ocean shooting them when the boat refuses to berth.

We can go on and on and on. I agree with you, we have enough human and material resources in our country. We only need to tap into such resources.

Warmest regards,

Hi guys,
As a young Nigerian i have NEVER thought of leaving this country for
greener pastures. Life is not all about greener pasture but making an impact on
the lives of others. I have a cousin in Canada who finds it difficult to call
me, come home or send money. "Things are so difficult" she says and that they
work for the government as their monies go back in taxes. There are so many
opportunities in Nigeria that are untapped. We enjoy natures' beauty, devoid of
environmental pollutions and emissions due to heavy industrialization. We may
not have gotten there but someday we will, with the right attitude because our
attitude determines our
altitude.

It is better to work diligently, consistently and be hopeful than to have a
license to become a

servant in another man's land. It is dehumanizing for my my rights to be
trampled upon because i want a better lease of life. If we make positive
contributions in our little ways, we will turn things around. Ghana is an
example, but Nigeria awaits people with the right attitude. I will sharpen my
professional skills overseas given the opportunity but can NEVER remain there.
Growing up in the village, i had dreams and someday i will bring them to reality

rather than run away.

Cheers
