Married name was Chapman. What is surprising  is what is missing - any mention of a husband that preceded her in death.

There are a number of interesting aspects of his Obit.  First of all, he died at Massillon State Hospital.  Also one would have expected that they would have listed his children, grandchildren, etc.  He may have not kept any connection with them, however.  Finally, it is interesting that he owned a Nehi operation.  Nehi was and is still a real icon from that era.  If one is a fan of the movie, The Christmas Story, the "major award" was originally about Nehi.  The book apparently made the connection while the movie didn't.

Have notes that Gladys Kannal Chapman's husband was Floyd Chapman. This is the only Floyd Chapman that I have been able to find from around Alliance. At this point can not tie to Gladys. (2/10/11)

Hi, my name is Jessica Chapman and I'm the great grand daughter of Gladys and was wondering if you had any further information on her or how you came to research her? I've recently started looking into my family's history and anything would be helpful. Thanks!
