Hi,
I have to upgrade packages in our company application, I found that iTextSharp is now Deprecated and in EOL. We have to use iText 7 now. Is someone already did this migration ? Is that possible ?

It's definitely possible to replace iTextSharp with iText 7 (with some adjustments due to API differences).

However, we strongly recommend our customers to use the open-source v4.1.6 of iTextSharp as it is stable, reliable, covers all required capabilities for migrated applications, and doesn't requires the purchase of a commercial license.

I tried to update itextsharp to latest version 5.5.13.3. the update process was done with only 1 code correction but after update I got empty pdf files (0 bytes). Any idea what to do?

I installed latest itextsharp to ENV project. Only using BaseColor = iTextSharp.text.Color; to using BaseColor = iTextSharp.text.BaseColor; needed to be changed in PrintWriterWithPdf.

Thynk you, Ales

Hi Alex,

Several notes.
We recommend itextsharp 4.1.6 - since it’s the latest version that is open source and doesn’t require you to purchase a license from them.

We had customers use version 5 successfully by changing the color class as you mentioned.

We played with later versions and it seems that these require significant work to use.
