Inner Class Printing

Hi

I am creating an Inner Class in my main Class and want to produce a report from it.  I have added the class using snippet short cut and I know I need to create the layout file by using a Report Layout template.  What I don't know is if there are any naming conventions I have to adhere to. When I try I get an error "The Designer could not be shown for this file because non of the classes within it can be designed.  Can anyone shed some light or point me to some documentation, please.
