**The issue is Downloading Nighthawk Genie or its successor for PC. I have a Nighthawk wireless adapter (A7000) which I have been using for 2-3 years with Win 10 on my desktop. I bought a new Dell computer with Win 11. The Dell transfer program that moved my items from the old to new computer did not move a good copy of the Nighthawk Genie. I used my original CD to install Nighthawk on my new PC but it did not download a copy of Genie.

I can't find a Genie download & the internet says that Genie is no longer used & Nighthawk app is the new program. When I try to download Nighthawk app I get referred to the Apple or Google store which is for IOS or Android devices but I have a PC running Win 11. (At the Apple store they ask if the download is for an iPad or iPhone & with Google, since I don't have an Android device, it says I have no supported device.) I have found a Nighthawk app for PC but the download comes in RAR form which my computer can't understand. I downloaded a zip program from the store which said it worked with RAR, I think it was 7zip (?), but in the end when I clicked on the download nothing happened to open the download.

Plemans--thanks for responding. Just a few minutes ago I had stumbled into a similar solution to yours when, while looking though my new PC I found the original download for the Genie. (My original installation Nighthawk disk had stopped reading--when I would put it in the reader the light would flash 3 times & then go dead but I could watch movies off a CD so the reader was good.)

The download had an autorun line. When I clicked on autorun it asked for a disk; I put the original disk in & it started to read. Within a few minutes I had the original Genie icon back on the desktop & it works.

I dual booted Ubuntu 17.10 in my windows 10.While working in windows wifi works fine! But in Ubuntu it is always showing "No wifi adapter found, Make sure you have a wifi adapter plugged and turned on"Not getting any solutions online! Tried some of them but not working! Help please

4 days ago an update come from windows 10. After update my wireless stops workings frequently. I have to run troubleshooter to fix that every time. Then I unistall intel wireless proset software and hp wireless button from control panel and uninstall wireless adapter driver and restarted computer. Then it fixed and issue not come again for 2 days. On 15 auguets another update come and this problem starts coming again. To fix this either I have to restart my laptop or need to run network troublshooter many times.

Wifi adapter becomes diable and upon click on enable nothing happen

After windows starts My wifi stops working after few minutes then I have to restart my pc or need to execute troubleshoot several time. After few minutes it disabled again....

Please help and assist

Devices such as smart TVs, wireless TV receivers, laptops, tablets, and phones might be consuming bandwidth and making your Internet service slower. Likewise, applications running on your computer might be using bandwidth in the background.

If the wireless connection speed is still slow, test the network performance with a different device. If the same behavior exhibits, please contact your internet service provider (ISP) as this may be an issue with your internet connection or associated hardware.

Enter the security key or passphrase for the selected wireless network (this would be located on a label on the bottom of most routers) or if your router has a WPS button you can also connect by pushing that button.

Most wireless devices can be turned off by the system to save power. In some sleep scenarios, the device might not wake properly when the system returns from sleep or hibernate. To prevent this from happening, adjust the power management settings for the wireless adapter.

If your computer can connect to the wireless router but performance is poor or the connection drops, changing the wireless channel band might help. Changing the wireless channel works best for 2.4 GHz routers and environments with lots of wireless network activity, such as apartment buildings.

The steps to change the wireless channel depend on your wireless router brand and model. You can use the following general steps to change the channels for many routers. If these steps do not work, refer to the user guide that came with your router.

Its still not fixed and frustrating me while I working. I am not getting Internet connection speed issue. Actually my wifi adapter seems not working correctly. Most of time I have to restart or have to run troubleshoot netwrok.

SomeTimes My wifi adapter completely disappear from network netwrok connections like this and I have to restart my computer

hi,

I am done with what you said. When my wifi is in working condition then hardware test says passed. When it disabled /not work wifi test disappear from diagnose screen.

I am attaching a new screenshot. I think all due to some windows update. I almost tried everything oer intenet but still getting problems with my wifi adapter.

This event coming frequently in my events logs. I had installed/unistalled driver many times. Had also install latest intel wireless poset 20.70.0 but that also not fixed the problem

The event log is used to capture every minor change made by the system, most of it is irrelevant as it doesn't affect the PC or it's performance and is best ignored, that said, if the device has passed the hardware test, it's great news considering this is not a hardware issue.

Its still happening frequently. I have to troubleshoot netwrok adapter to fix this. Some times I have to restart my laptop to fix this. Network/Wifi adaptor disabled and upon clicking on enable it does not enable.

Did all of these computers receive an update (through Windows Update the day of the crash)? Have you tried rolling back those updates? Have you tried rolling back drivers to their display devices? Have you tried installing new drivers? Are these three Windows devices the same hardware (Dell, Lenovo, etc)?

Has there been any group policy changes? > Try a laptop not on your domain if you have one available
2a. If you can wirelessly display with a non domain joined laptop - Check this group policy setting. Miracast/WiDi Problem after connecting to domain

You may also need to update the MS Wireless Display adapters. To do this you need a computer that can still connect to them and there is an app in the MS Store that will allow you do manage the adapters

Then I tried uninstalling the ESET Endpoint Antivirus that was on the laptop, and it connected just fine. Interestingly, reinstalling it did not keep it from connecting, so perhaps the installation got corrupted?

How can I connect wireless network adapter to VMWare workstation ?(My Host OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, my Guest OS is Fedora 13 & my VMWare version is 6.5.0)I'm running Windows 7 on my Dell Vostro A860 laptop & my wireless network adapter is Atheros.

I think the only way to get a wireless NIC dedicated to the VM would be using a USB wireless NIC as a USB-passthrough device on the VM. When you have Workstation running and a USB device plugged in, it should give you an option to change whether that device is connected to the host or to the VM.

Use a Linux Live cd/usb and boot an that to be able to directly connect to your wifi hardware or use linux as the main OS with direct access to the wifi card and then use windows as a guest os, I know that this maybe not the ideal way but it will work.

Since there is only one WiFi hardware on the computer its not possible to connect one WiFi hardware to multiple WiFi networks, if you want to that I think you have to map WiFi hardware to guest OS and how host you'll have to use some other hardware (may be Ethernet) but I'm sure that it will work in that way as no VM software allow us to allocate Hardware to Guest except for USB, you can also get USB WiFI and allocate that to VM only.

I tried that but device manager doesn't show any network adapter. I bought a macbook air just last week and installed windows 10 (education) on it. I see only 'network controller' in device manager. On a related note, I did have problems installing Windows 10 on this macbook. After Bootcamp assistant created the windows install disk on a flash drive, the computer restarted but did not automatically go to the install disk to bbot up. I had to restart it again and hold the option key for it to do that. So I still do not get the bootcamp screen when I startup. Could my problem be related to that?

I have a similar problem, except I am using a 2008/2009 iMac (I know, ancient by now) and Windows 7. I have been using Windows 7 on this Mac with wifi for a couple years now without apparent problems, but last week my Mac wouldn't boot up (stuck in endless loading at grey screen) (Windows side did boot up and appeared fine). Long story short, the Mac drive was corrupted and I ended up having to erase my Mac HD, reinstall the OS (I stick with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on that computer), and restore my files with a Time Machine back-up.

Now having done that the Mac side seems to be back to normal, but the Windows 7 now will not connect to the Wifi. I tried uninstalling broadcom as was suggested here and doing the hardware scan. Broadcom reappeared on the list but my wifi connection did not return. Any ideas?

I can see the wifi router but it won't connect and took some time to figure out why. My workaround this persistent connectivity issue is to unplug my external monitor before connecting to the wifi router. This indicates I may have a power supply or power management issue. This issue only occurs in Bootcamp, not macOS so it's more likely a power management issue than a power supply issue. Maybe the factory fitted dedicated NVidia GeForce 750M in the high-end late 2013 15" Macbook Pro uses a lot of power when piping to a 4K external monitor via displayport. Once I'm connected to wifi in Bootcamp I can plug the monitor back in and proceed without issues.
