[Important] Scheduling Grand Viva (ME7983) - Dual Degree Students

Dual Degree Students,

As you all know, we have we have a 2 credit Viva course this semester -  ME7983. I spoke with the HOD's office today and they want to wrap it up by the end of November. The ideal time they could come up with, considering placements and end semester examinations is 24th November afternoon from 1 PM to 6 PM. Note that this shouldn't cause much of a problem for students taking F slot end semester examination on 26th since 25th is a holiday.

Please let me know if you any concerns about this late by tomorrow evening. Else, the above-mentioned date will be considered final.

Correction in the earlier mail. It's not grand viva, it is a 2 credit viva voce course which is independent of our DDP.

If it is held during third week of December it will be peaceful for both people sitting in placements and people who are apping. It seems reasonable.

hey some students(including me) have end sem of E slot , Metal Removal Process on 24th NOV, 2-5 pm , the included many Ph Ds, Mtechs, MS, Dual students

i don't know if its possible to change this end sem

I think it will be possible for them to shift the dates. Doesn't look like they were in a hurry to conduct it in any case, considering they didn't tell us until now (that too after one of us found out). 

And I think it is a very short notice. Whatever be the number of credits attached to it.

Yah, it is possible to shift it. Its just a proposal made by HoD's office. Soon I will update you all more on it.

The HoD office has apparently received strict instructions from Dean to report the viva grades before December and they have been reprimanded in the past for not doing so. Thus, this time they definitely want to conduct it on 24th to 26th Nov. This is what the HoD office staff told me. I tried convincing her to shift it to Mid-december but she wouldn't budge!.

Yeah if anyone can negotiate, please do so at the earliest.

I tried talking to HoD, but he was out of town and would be back only by Thursday. I will try to convince him to have Viva in December. I will update you on this after meeting him on Thursday.
