Hello Everyone,

I trust y'all have been doing great and keeping warm as we enter the early phases of Winter.

It's a great time and we have exciting news - HOTR The Gateway is putting together a team and we will be participating in the annual 702 Walk the Talk which will take place on Sunday 24 July 2016 (Yes, Sunday).

Our campaign is "Walk for Righteousness" - the idea is to get the message out there that much more than political activism or anything else, what South Africa and the nations of the world need at this time is Righteousness. We hope you will join us and stand to be counted as we leverage this annual event to raise the banner of Christ. It seeks to engage 50,000 people in the walk and has participants from across the world. Just imagine the reach we could have by raising the flag of righteousness for Christ at this event. It will be impactful beyond what we can imagine, and you need to stand up to be counted.

Three distances are available to choose from - 15km, 8km and 5km. Entry fees are R180.00 for the 15km walk and R160.00 for the 8km and 5km walk. Under 12 year olds (5km and 8km only) and over 60 year olds may also participate for R130.00

Walk the Talk takes place at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia. The Walk starts on Judith Road at the intersection of Hill Street, and finishes at the venue off Orange Road. Park & Ride is essential but we will address all of that much later.

You do not need to qualify for the Walk the Talk. It is not a timed walk. Plus, you do not need to stress about your fitness levels. While we will have exercise schedules announced to encourage fitness, you can conveniently join us for a stroll.

We have created a "Team Righteousness" online at www.walkthetalk.co.za. You simply need to go online to enter yourself by clicking JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM (Under ENTER). Team entries must consist of 10 or more entrants but we are looking at showing a commanding presence, so the more the merrier. Your canine friends are welcome too!

We would love to close our team entry on Sunday, 15 May 2016 or earlier to guarantee registration for all as payments must be made before this date. Entries without payment are invalid.

If you find that you cannot continue along the walk, you can flag down a marshal at the closest water point to request a sweep vehicle assist. For medical assistance the walker must call the emergency number on their walk number and medical resources from JOC will be dispatched. Medical support at the 702 Walk the Talk will be supplied by ER24.

The road closure is enforced by Johannesburg Metro Police and Johannesburg Roads Agency. Judith Road will be closed to traffic from Beyers Naude Drive to Barry Hertzog Avenue from 04h00 – 14h00.

Please check on www.walkthetalk.co.za for all the road closure and parking information.

Righteousness will exalt our nation -South Africa. Let's make this count for Jesus.
