Dear colleagues and friends of MIFOS,

IDYDC in Tanzania is in need of a training on the MIFOS system to make full use of its features. Are there training providers located in Tanzania? Kindly reach out.

Wishing you all a peacefull and smooth transition into 2026 and a prosperous and blessed New Year!

Warm regards,

Join us in our Mifos 2030 Vision Campaign.

The Mifos 2030 Vision is a movement and shared roadmap that will spur new innovation, garner additional funder support, catalyze volunteer engagement and unify and invigorate our community on a common trajectory in alignment with the UN SDG of No Poverty by 2030 and the 50-in-5 advocacy campaign for digital public infrastructure.

Our Mifos 2030 Vision will show the world our revolutionary journey in building a global community and ecosystem that has reached more than 65M individuals across 70 countries to date. We aim to reach 500 million more individuals through banking and fintech solutions powered by our APIs and Building Blocks. Our campaign will paint a clear vision of where we are headed, an actionable roadmap of how we can collectively get there, and demonstrate the power and impact of uniting a global open source community on a common technology platform of open source building blocks for digital financial services.

You can help us in our campaign by making a donation or pledging a commitment as an individual or organization on how you'll contribute to making the 2030 Mifos Vision a reality.

We will be publishing the commitments and tracking progress on them throughout the campaign.

Global Thought Leader for Last-Mile Financial Services
In 2025, our team fully traversed the globe speaking at or attending more than two dozen events across the full spectrum of digital financial services for the public and private sector.

Mifos was a true thought leader whether it's advocating for last-mile accounts for DPI use cases like G2P and P2G at events like the Interledger Summit and Caribbean and Global DPI Summits, sustainability of DPGs through events like the DPGA Annual Members Meeting and MOSIP Connect, global gatherings to shape the future of open source collaboration like the UN Open Source Week, Global Digital Collaboration Conference, UNGA Week, and Open Source Congress, grass-roots outreach to OSS developers at FOSDEM and Community over Code, or cultivating the US fintech builder community by speaking at events like Fintech DevCon

Our potential for scale and our impact on sustainabilty through open-source reuse and public-private co-investment was recognized through Finabien winning the Future of Government Award for Open Source Reuse and Mifos being highlighted as a case study in the DPG Sustainability Report authored by Max Kintisch of the Dgital Public Goods Alliance.
Mifos Suite of Products Continues to Evolve
Throughout 2025, we made siginificant progress across our entire suite of products and projects to advance the last-mile delivery of financial servcies to the poor.
  • For Mifos X, we were re-certified as a DPG, launched the brand new progressive loan module supported by the Pepper Soup project, launched the next generation of our web app, made progress on a new more modular architecture and delivered a number of new modules for decisioning and origination.
  • For PH-EE we continue to improve its performance and deployability, strengthen DPI use cases for G2P and P2G, and are gradually making it more modular with lighter weight workflow integration.
  • Mifos Gazelle made tremendous strides with support for ARM architectures, improved resource consumption support for more DPGs and a much more streamlined user experience with a graphical user interface and configurable demo profiles.
  • Last but not least, we have streamlined the development of our suite of staff and customer-facing mobile apps, all built on the Kotlin Multi-Platform framework, consuming auto-generated KMP clients, using consistent UI from our common UI library with automated builds and releases to the respective app stores.
Mifos made a huge investment in the future of its community in 2025 through our participation in three intern programs. A huge thank you to all our mentors for their support in helping guide the 22 graduating interns we had from Google Summer of Code, Mifos Summer of Code and Code for GovTech. Our interns made substantial contributions across all of our projects including enhancements to Mifos X, it's user experience, and surrounding modules, strengthening of our mobile apps and enabling them to be cross-platform, hardening and building a powerful user experience around Mifos Gazelle and pushing the cutting edge with AI enablement tools for decisioning, security and agentic operations.

View all their efforts in our Finals Week playlist and if you're interested in mentoring for 2026, please be in touch! We're generating ideas for 2026 now
