Hi

 

I have been having trouble with the installation of mifos on my local machine. After installing on the initialisation of tomcat I get the attached error message.

I am able to access mysql databases with the workbench and heidiSQL with my username and password. But for some reason my credentials don’t seem to be considered.

 

Your help in this regard will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advace.

Hi Khayana,

This is the actual root cause of why tomcat is not able to connect to the DB

Could not connect: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Check the password set at the `fineract_tenants` DB's  tenant_server_connections table could be wrong.

Also if you are working on the latest fineract server, then make sure you set the password to 'mysql' only. currently it only takes 'mysql' as password and the issue has been raised to correct the same.

Kindly check if your using Mysql version as advised in the installation guide i think its version 5 especially for the first installation if otherwise uninstal the version that using and install the version in the guide.

When installing MifosX for the very first time, please use the defaults provided in the guides. Do not deviate from the norm until the first installation is done. And even when it done, Do not change user Ids like Mifos etc. Those that you find in the system. 

If you follow the guide line by line you will have a successful installation in no time. We all get tempted to think about security even before we start the installation. Security can be archived in very many ways. First things first, start with the basics and later make them complex.

Basic steps are - a working mysql Installation, a successful java installation and a successful tomcat installation.
