Hello all,

Just looking at a loan with some transactions.  There were two transactions entered for 11/17 and 11/23 that should up in the Recenty Activity.

When I click on “View Transaction History”, I see those payments listed and there are two dates listed.  “Date” and “Date Posted”, which are both the same dates (11/18 and 11/24 respectively).

So the transactions were entered in one day later than the actual transaction was occurred.  Seems to me that transaction date should still show up (the 11/17 and 11/23) on this page.  I tried looking for the functional spec for this view, but didn’t find anything on mifos.org.

Thoughts?  Should one of those dates be equal to the transaction date or should we add a new column?

Also, this may be an opportunity for us to nail down the different dates attached to a transaction and enter some enhancements to get this to sync up between the UI and database.  Quickly, off the top of my head, I see the following for a loan payment -

Create Date: Date the record was entered into mifos (should be a time stamp)
Due Date: Date the payment was due
Transaction Date: Date the actual transaction was conducted
Receipt Date: Option receipt field with attached date

Hi Ryan
if we backdate a manual "apply payment" transaction it will show the
back dated date and the date posted as different dates.
If we enter a loan repayment using the collection sheet it will use
the date they should have paid (due date) and then the date it was
posted which is sometimes not accurate as they may have met later than
the original scheduled meeting date.
I am surprised you are seeing something different.

I was also asking Ed which date is used in the GL report and he is to
get back to me on that.

regards
gayl

Gayl,

That's very interesting... Not sure what's going on here, but its something
I think worth looking into (don't have the time to dig into it too heavily
at the moment), so I filed this issue:
http://mifosforge.jira.com/browse/MIFOS-4313

Might be a great volunteer bug for someone to dig through Mifos and
determine the correct behavior for these dates and determine if its
consistent.
