Mifos Updates

Musoni's mLite - First Community-Built App on Mifos X Platform

We're proud to showcase the first community-built app on top of the Mifos X platform. Musoni BV who launched the world's first "cashless" microfinance institution at Musoni Kenya chose Mifos X as their platform to scale and replicate their innovative model worldwide. In a mere 2 months, they've built a complete PHP-based application customized to their unique best-practice workflow all through the Mifos X API. All the underlying functionality was built into the platform by our team so external folks like the Musoni team can quickly build their financial inclusion apps. They demo'd the app during our June 27 user meetup and will be distributing it through East Africa soon.  We've got a link to their demo and screencast

Summer of Code Kicks off

2013 Google Summer of Code Class of Interns

We're proud to be working with an awesome and invigorated class of four interns for the 2013 Google Summer of Code. Anuruddha Premalal of Sri Lanka will focus on the back-end, strengthening the core platform through Server-Side Pagination and Multi-Tenant Caching. He'll be paired up with Gurpreet.  Yanna Wu from China is familiar with the XBRL taxonomy so she was a natural fit to work on XBRL Integration for MIX Market with her mentor, Kojo. Andreas Weigel from Germany has shown strong front-end development skills and will work well on the User-Generated Documents project under the leadership of Michael Vorburger. Avik Ganguly based out of India has shown a fervent interest in all areas of the platform and is ready to tackle an important project creating an Initial Data Import Tool under the mentorship of Udai . Stay tuned for a fun and exciting Summer of Code!
