I got pentaho up and running and many thanks....but here are my
experiences. i hope it helps someone out there.

first i installed to my installation directory and tried to get both
mifos and pentaho up simultaneously, iit failed, one instance of
tomcat just hanged. i realiseonly one instance of tomcat will run not
the two. so i shut down mifos and left pentaho up. is this the idea?

is it possible to have the two up simultenously?

secondly i tried the reports, i dont seem to be having what i had
stored in mysql? but it was executing quite alright. what do i need to
do-refresh the datawarehouse?

finally, i require an sql query to extract my gl by date for manual
posting to the accounting software.

Will appreciate any help i can have

Hi Teejay,

If your Mifos and BI server are two separate tomcat applications, make
sure that the ports of the two are different, when you try to run both
simultaneously. For Mifos, if it is 8080, define 8086 for BI server in
web.xml and server.xml files.

You can have just one Tomcat instance for mifos and pentaho (for mifos bi).

http://forums.pentaho.com/showthread.php?79553-Pentaho-3.7-RC1-and-existing-Tomcat-6 .  I've done it on linux based largely on the following post which is in the link given.  I've not done in windows but it should be very similar.

"...copy the webapps content (from the installed pentaho tomcat) in your existing Tomcat... (snip)

And don't forget to copy the pentaho-solutions folder in the same level as your Tomcat installation folder. For example if your Tomcat is running on /opt/tomcat , the pentaho-solutions folder should be placed on /opt/pentaho-solutions

Basically, you no longer use the start-pentaho.sh (or bat) script to kick off pentaho...it will kick off when you start your main tomcat.  

Copy directories sw-style,  pentaho, pentaho-style which are in directory biserver-ce\tomcat\webapps to the existing tomcat\webapps directory and do as the note above says with the pentaho-solutions directory.

If you are on linux you will probably need to set owners and permissions... but see how you go first.
