Hello Dev Team,
I am trying to access the mifos Android app but I get a ssl error every time.
I have tried with our hosted systems, like the screen shot below, as well as the mifos demo account as posted here.
I get this same error every time.
When I click continue I get a spinning circle for about 1 second and then the same message again.
When I click exit the app closes.

Any help here would be great thanks.

Have you tried port 443 for https? Other than that, I just want to say that the certificate is still valid, so its not an expired certificate problem. (Port 22 which is what it says in the picture is for SSH)

Thanks James,
When I try the 443 I no longer get the error.
However, I still can't get in. It says logging in and spins and then takes me back to the log-in screen.
I tried on both the Demo and the account in the screen shot.

Any other ideas?

Hi All,
This is the same problem am facing at my side. am not able to login to my local instance. I raised a Jira issue at https://mifosforge.jira.com/browse/MIFOSAC-135 and someone has not yet worked. I think the method getUnsafeOkHttpClient has been removed from LoginActivity.java. This is a big hindrance to us who have self-signed certificates. If some volunteer can work on this, it would really help alot.

Thanks
Regards

Hi Ippez,

Looking at the scenario you shared with me, I see 2 issues:

1.       Even in webapp, the SSL certificate is not valid. Looks like a self-signed and not issued by a CA. You may consider going for a valid SSL certificate, Comodo WildCard SSL might be a cheaper option and also use a domain name as common name and not IP when generating new keystore. Your tomcat configuration shall also need to be updated with new keystore details.

2.       The Mifos X android app is still pointing to https://[ip_address]/mifosng-provider/api/v1 and I suspect you have upgraded the server to fineract platform which could be the reason as to why you can’t login to the android app even when you choose continue with the invalid ssl certificate. Not sure if there is a way we can have the current android app work with latest version of Mifos X on fineract, will leave this for the devs to advise us.

I am also keenly following this issue. A total of 65 loan officers would like to get back to using the app since the upgrade. If the android devs have a solution please share as soon as you can

Hello all,
I wanted to follow up and see if the devs had a chance to update the android app. As Zayyad said it is still pointing to the following.  https://[ip_address]/mifosng-provider/api/v1 a

Thanks for your help.

Mobile security can be enabling, not merely restricting. Employees who
bring their own devices (BYOD) to work are irked by the imposition of MDM
restrictions. Mobile Device Manager Plus allows you to control only the

Hi Praveen,

Will you be able to spend some time on this (ensure the Mifos Android Client works on the latest release ) ?

Thanks and Regards,

Praveen,

I have begun logging some issues https://mifosforge.jira.com/projects/MIFOSAC/issues based on the APK that Ishan provided me. This is the build that contains all the great work that our Outreachy students have done - we need to take it through some extensive QA before it's ready for release into the Google Play store.

I also want us to close out as many of these issues as we can as Rajan takes up his GSOC project focusing on Version 3.0 of our Android client.

For others who would like to test the build (from Apr 24) here's a link to the APK you could install directly on your phone. It has the new design and additional functionalities but several bugs - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByeK44WJrHIvTWV5c0VLeV8wYUE4OC1PY09BS3RYSXl1NWFZ

Nathan - if you would like to test this build to get a sense of the latest functionality, that link is good but it's not ready for production.
