Hi Channa Gayan,

my apologies for my much delayed response; I'm Cc-ing other mentors FYI.

Ed and Vishwas are in a better position than myself to be able to comment on the functional merit & priority of a document upload functionality you propose (actually I thought we already had that in Mifos, but I may be mistaken).

What I would do if I were you is to make two GSoC proposal - one for whatever project we've listed that most appeals to you, and one for your idea below - we can then vet that together with other applications we are receiving. I would encourage you to get involve in the Mifos community before, and underlying your interest & commitment by fixing and sending pull requests for some smaller bugs already.

Best of luck,
Michael

Hi Michael,

I am a third year computer science and engineering undergraduate from University of Moratuwa and I would like to code in this summer with Mifos. Apart from project ideas mentioned in the page

I have my own idea.
I've setup Mifos platform, community-UI and Individual lending app on my machine. After going through web app I noticed that there is no functionality to upload download documents/files with this application. I recently worked in a project that uses Spring framework, and I was assigned to add functionality to download/upload documents with editing history.

Is there any chance that considering my idea in Gsoc 2014? If so I'm ready to discuss further details about this. Appreciate your immediate reply.

Thank you.

Hi Channa Gayan,

If you refer the Community App at: https://demo.openmf.org/preview:

The following links does allow uploads of images/documents/files:

a)      Client photo – Click on client à More à Upload Client Image

b)      Client Documents – Click on client à Documents à Upload

c)       Loan Documents – Click on client à Click on any loan à Loan Documents à Upload

Are you looking at functionality beyond this?

Agree with you that it would make sense to add the date on which the upload was done to the display. Also, the functionality needs to be extended to other types of products too (Savings, Term deposits etc.).

Thanks
Binny
