The Jones-Hall-Sims House was built in 1874 and originally belonged to the formerly enslaved Richard Jones. Together with his brother Erasmus, Jones purchased the nine acres from a nearby plantation for $135. The families farmed the land around the house and over the years, gave parcels to their children and other relatives who also built homes there. The structure was situated near Poolesville, Maryland when it was first identified, in the Jonesville community, named after the brothers. Members of the family continue to live in the area. After acquiring the house in 2009, the Museum had the structure dismantled, fumigated, cleaned, and finally, reassembled in the museum, requiring nearly three years of very specialized craftsmanship.

We ordered a Greek salad to share, a Buffalo chicken pizza and our kids split a pepperoni pizza. The salad was particularly good, lots of toppings and cheese and the house dressing was excellent. Pizzas were cooked just right and lots of flavor...

In fact, the two-story home where Kelton took her very first steps was built around 1875. It was the first house built in what became the free African-American community of Jonesville in rural Montgomery County, Maryland. Named after its founders Richard and Erasmus Jones, ancestors who Kelton lovingly referred to as her "uncles," the community gave former slaves their first tangible taste of freedom.

The Joneses built a variety of homes, and Gardullo says the construction of the house itself and the surrounding buildings help tell the story of how people who had been enslaved could build a home, like other Americans, and had the skills and wherewithal to do this in a country where they were second-class citizens. The Jones-Hall-Sims House, named for the related families who lived there over the years, is much more than simply the story of a single, beloved house.

Kelton recalls the house as a meeting place for everyone, and says her grandparents told stories about the original inhabitants of the house. It was a place where huge family reunions and pig roasts were held every year, and her grandfather continued the tradition of black artistry in the town as a craftsman in the construction field.

I'll admit I passed on the original House Flipper craze because I'm not one for job sim games. But I really like to build and decorate houses, which, it turns out, House Flipper 2 is totally prepared to support. House Flipper dev Frozen District has already announced that the sequel would have a sandbox mode, but now it's been shown off in a new trailer. I'm all in this time.

In the original game, your goal was of course to come into a house and fix it up by demoing walls, cleaning up trash, and rolling on a more charming color of paint. Sandbox mode lets you ignore all responsibility and simply build from scratch. You can edit the lot dimensions and terrain heights, use free-placement or snap to the grid, and switch to a top-down editor instead of the usual first-person perspective. Frozen District also references its 1,500-piece catalog of furniture and the ability to share your houses with the community.

House Flipper 2 was already the most-played Next Fest demo in June, so it seems that plenty of other folks are ready to go hands-on. House Flipper 2 launches on December 14 on Steam for you to either flip houses as usual or just build your own.

Simms Steakhouse offers a unique alternative to banquet halls when seeking a superior food experience with personal attention and service. Our private rooms offer a memorable backdrop for your guests.

Set atop a hillside that overlooks the majestic lights of downtown Denver, Simms Steakhouse represents the pinnacle of scenic fine dining. Noted for the best view in the Mile High City, Simms offers both indoor and outdoor seating options that set the perfect stage for all occasions.

The House of Fallen Trees is a residential lot in Downtown, from The Sims 2: Nightlife. It can be purchased for 85,505. The house is haunted by the ghosts of Fricorith and Gvaudoin Tricou, and Rainelle Neengia.

This mansion was the home of the Tricou family, before they all met their mysterious deaths. The house was then owned, or at least occupied, by Rainelle Neengia before she was scared to death by the Tricou ghosts. The house has three floors; four including the basement, which is very deep. The lowest floor is sparsely furnished, with a basic kitchen and den.

A basic bathroom and bedroom are upstairs. The furniture was probably owned by Rainelle before her death. Strangely, the basement is home to two coffins. This may indicate a vampiric streak in the Tricous, but it is not clear when the coffins were placed there, so it is not certain. There is a garage to the left side of the house. Uniquely, it is the only house with four floors.

It is possible to assume that the Gray Lady of SimCity (for whom the flame resistant qualities of infants is credited) is also a former resident of the mansion, due to how the statue is prestigiously placed on a pedestal. This suggests that it is intended to be the original memorial. It's also interesting to note that both the Tricou teenagers died in fires suggesting the house is cursed by fire (the cause of the Gray Lady's death).

If the player wants to copy the lot and place it in another neighborhood, it's best to place the house on the hill. The house has a very deep basement, meaning that if the house is placed near the water level (such as in the place of the Goth Manor in Pleasantview), the basement will be flooded.

Given the gothic stylings of the house in general; the pair of vampire coffins laid out in the basement; and the dim night lighting, players wishing to set a family on this lot might do well to reserve it for some sort of good-natured Addams Family-style mix of vampire, werewolf, and witch. These sorts of characters might feel most at home. It is possible to kill normal Sims from fright if they are put in the house, unless the Sim wants to see a ghost.

This guide will talk about how to get Sims to join a household that they don't belong to in The Sims 4. There are a few ways to do this and this article will go over all of them, so players can decide what they prefer or what better suits their gameplay needs.

Updated on June 30, 2023, by Ashely Claudino: Despite being around for so long, The Sims 4 is undoubtedly a game that players can continue to play for years and years without getting tired. There is always something new to do, expansion packs to try out, and more mods to install. This guide has now been updated with a section on mods, a big part of the game for more of the community. With this update, players will learn how they can add more Sims to their household with the help of a great mod used by many Sims 4 players.

If the goal is simply to join a Sim (or more) to a certain household and there are no other storyline reasons for doing it such as wanting them to fall in love or be best friends, Manage Worlds is the way to go. After all, it's always nice to have someone new around that'll help pay the bills.

Manage World is the menu where players can edit everything about every single lot, household, and Sim in the game. There it's possible to edit any Sim even if the player isn't playing with them or knows them, they don't even have to be currently living on the world map at that moment.

In the Manage Households menu, players will have to select the household of the Sim that they'd like to move. Next, there's a button with two arrows pointing in opposite directions, hovering over it will say "transfer Sims between households," that's where they'll have to click. This will open the Household Split and Merge menu.

Players will now have to choose the target household, then select the Sim they'd like to move and click the "transfer Sim(s)" arrow. It's also possible to transfer funds from one household to another. The next time that the player plays with the household, the Sim will be there living their life regularly

For players that own Discover University: An alternative to having another Sim in the household that the player can control, it's by adding an extra bed and putting an ad online looking for a roommate. Players can't restrain their actions, and it's impossible to control what their personality might be like, but they'll still contribute a percentage of the bills at the end of the week.

It's also possible to ask a Sim directly to move into the player's household. It's not guaranteed that they'll accept, it depends on how close the two Sims are. But, once two Sims have reached a high enough friendship level the "ask to join household" option will appear in the 'Friendly' interactions menu.

If the other Sim lives with more people, the player will manually have to transfer funds if they'd like to take some of their money. However, if the other Sim lives alone, these funds will automatically be added to the player's household.

Although perhaps a bit unorthodox, adding a player to a household is perhaps the simplest way to do it besides Manage Worlds. Before anything else, it's important to activate testingCheats - players that aren't familiar with how to do this should check out this very detailed guide on the subject.

Once testingCheats have been enabled, players will first have to find the Sim that they'd like to add to their household. Then, they have to activate the cheat by shift-clicking the Sim (clicking on them with the circle button on Playstation or B on Xbox.) The "add to family" option will now be available and it's possible to add just about any Sim in the game to one's household.

Eight is the maximum amount of Sims that can live in a certain household, regardless of the size of the lot. If the household is already full none of the options above will work. The only way to work around this is to download specific mods to increase household restrictions - however, doing this can cause the game to delete Sims on its own when entering Create-a-Sim or editing households over the official restriction limit.
