Final Retreat Announcements (important)

Hello Everybody,

First off, I would like to say how excited I am that you all are coming. I hope that you are all preparing your hearts and minds for the messages delivered by Pastor Borg and the wonderful fellowship that will come this weekend, Lord willing. I will just ask before I give the updates, that those of you who are "Retreat Repeats," make sure that you seek out and welcome the newcomers as we have a handful this time around. We have had good history of this and in order to maintain the unity and blessing of these retreats, we must continue in that practice.

Now that I'm off the soap box:

1) The new location of the retreat is Chihowa Retreat Center in Perry, KS. Check it out if you wish at chihowa.org. The address for you to punch in to your GPS is 3553 Osage Rd, Perry, KS 66073

2) Yes, although we are going to a camp center, it is still very important that each of you supply your own bedding and towels.

3) Since the camp is blessing us by giving us great price to rent the facility, we are going to do some service projects around the grounds to return the favor. That is all to say that it may be a good idea to bring a set of clothes that would not be missed if they became ruined in the name of Christian service because I'm not sure all of the work that we will be doing.

4) For those of you planning on arriving on Friday evening, you are more than welcome to do so. Please do not arrive before 5:00pm and we will try to register as many of you as possible before eating at 6:00pm. The Lawrence congregation has generously offered to provide pizza and snacks for us so plan to eat and the retreat center if you wish.

5) During free time on Saturday afternoon, there is the possible option to do some shopping in the downtown of Lawrence. If that appeals to you, bring money for shopping and we shall see if we can make that happen.

6) There are facilities for sports at the retreat center so feel free to bring basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, frisbees, etc.

7) On Lord's Day morning, we will be going to the Lawrence church for our last session and worship service. We will just need to make sure that we plan accordingly so that everyone has a ride.

8) Pastor Borg will be speaking on the topic of "Christ's Sayings On The Cross." there are seven "Sayings" that he will cover and here are the topics and corresponding passages. Feel free to read ahead and prepare.
