Nerdery upgrades and changes

Hello Makers,

We're excited to announce a major overhaul of the Nerdery to improve the layout and upgrade our equipment!

New Laser Cutter & Fundraiser
To create more space, we are replacing our two laser cutters with a single, larger, and more powerful model. We have sold one of the lasers already to make room and will be selling the other once we order and receive the new laser to ensure there is no downtime.

We are choosing between two models, with a total cost between $3,400 and $3,900. Thanks to equipment sales and member commitments, we have already raised $2,600. We now need to raise a final $800 - $1,300 to make this happen.

We need your input! Please take our short, anonymous survey to help us choose the best model and let us know if you can contribute to the fundraiser. All member feedback is crucial, regardless of financial contribution.

Other Nerdery Improvements
The newly freed-up space will allow us to expand our electronics workbench with new diagnostic equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and more!), add more soldering stations, and create a dedicated rework area. The Nerdery will also get fresh paint and new flooring. We will need volunteers for the build-out, so stay tuned for dates!
