Thanks Danny
Some good information!
Some techniques that I’ve used for homebrew PCBs include: milling the isolation path around traces and pads in a piece of copper clad laminate with 30 degree conical carbide cutter using a homebrew CNC running DeskCNC. Another method is plotting on copper clad laminate using a flatbed plotter and etch resist pens. A fine point Sharpie works pretty well. A third method is to apply self-adhesive laser paper to the laminate and use a laser cutter to burn through the paper and then to peel off the paper over the copper areas to be etched away. None of these methods work for fine pitch SMD however. I saw where you can use a laser engraver to burn black spray paint off of copper clad board and etch it with good results. I haven’t tried that method yet.
Merry Christmas All!
