Hi Jack!HSL color namespace is the most similar to Midnight Lizard color system. It stands for Hue, Saturation and Lightness.
Midnight Lizard has the following possible hue values:
hue="4" name="Red"
hue="340" name="Pink"
hue="291" name="Purple"
hue="262" name="Deep Purple"
hue="231" name="Indigo"
hue="207" name="Blue"
hue="199" name="Light Blue"
hue="187" name="Cyan"
hue="174" name="Teal"
hue="122" name="Green"
hue="88" name="Light Green"
hue="66" name="Lime"
hue="54" name="Yellow"
hue="45" name="Amber"
hue="36" name="Orange"
hue="14" name="Deep Orange"
hue="16" name="Brown"
hue="0" name="Grey"
hue="200" name="Blue Grey"
which are exactly correspond to Material Design ColorsSaturation in Midnight Lizard has the same meaning and possible values as it does in HSL color namespace.
As for Lightness - it is a little bit more tricky. In Midnight Lizard it represented by two values Brightness limit and Contrast.
Brightness limit sets the maximum possible Lightness value. Contrast of Text, Border and Links sets minimum difference between background Lightness and Lightness of Text Border or Links correspondingly. But Background Contrast is different and difficult to explain... The bigger its value is, the easier it will be to distinguish between similar background colors (at least it should be)
To reproduce something similar to Solarized Dark color scheme you should take HEX colors and convert them to HSL. You can do it with
this converter for example.
Since Midnight Lizard has a limited list of possible hues you have to choose the closest one.
I tried to make this color scheme by myself. I'm attaching what I've got.
Here you can find how to import color scheme from a file.
