Midnight Lizard slows down performance even when

I tested Midnight Lizard performance on Gmail with these three settings:

• Midnight Lizard extension enabled in Chrome settings, Gmail on allowlist
  • Performance is noticeably slow
• Midnight Lizard extension enabled in Chrome settings, Gmail on blocklist
  • Strangely, performance is still noticeably slow, even though the site is on blocklist and dark mode is not active
• Midnlight Lizard extension enabled in Chrome settings, disabled from in-built extension on/off toggle, Gmail on blocklist
  • Again, strangely the performance is quite slow even thought the extension is apparently toggled "off"
• Midnight Lizard extension disabled via Chrome's extensions settings
  • Performance is much faster

My question is why does the extension seem to affect performance regardless of whether or not a website is on the allowlist/blocklist? And even regardless of it being toggled on/off via the in-built toggle?

Hi! Thank you for the report.

I've tested it, but could not reproduce - for me GMail is slow all the time even when ML is completely disabled.

But when I also disabled AdBlock it started working much faster!

So probably ML is not the right one to blame :)
