Devdatta Sable is a Marathi singer and composer. He is known for composing music for songs Hi Chaal Turu Turu and Manaachyaa Dhundit and for the Marathi film 'Aakrandan'. Sable has sung the Adivasi song titled 'Dev jevla aamhi pahila' from the film 'Aakrandan' which has been directed by Shashikant Deshpande.[1][2][3]
As the film has emphasized more on the different attitudes of the characters in this film, the selection of actors has been perfect. Shankar Mahadevan seems to be the right choice, to play Kind hearted Pandit Bhanushankar, while the most experienced Sachin Pilgaonkar has found a lifetime role, to portray a negative character. He has been given ample scope for displaying the selfish and cunning attitude of Khan Saab, through his body language, facial expressions and with his proficiency in Urdu language. Subodh Bhave finds an equally good role of Sadashiv, the disciple of Panditji and he has given full justice to his character.
Director Satish Rajwade has shown his skills, while mixing emotions with entertainment very well; but, he has stretched the climax little longer, than required. very cleverly, he has endorsed number of consumer products through deliberately created scenes. Overall effort of the film maker has been good, to target the family audience.
Written & Directed by Shashikant Deshpande, the film has already been dubbed Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Chinese languages. Based on the injustice on women and fight against the same, the film stars Sharad Ponkshe, Upendra Limaye, Ganesh Yadav, Bal Smita, Pradeep Velankar, Uday Tikekar, Tejashree Pradhan, Pallavi Wagh in lead roles. Director of Photography Damodar Naidu and editing by Manoj Sankla are the other credits.
Q: As a costume designer, how do you work on costumes? Do you follow any specific style ?
A: I read the script first. After that, I discuss with the director and art director to complete the look design . Then, according to this look, I prepare the costumes. But, for that period and location, is very important . Similarly, tone colors & patterns are also to be taken into account, while designing the costumes.
Q: Is there anything else, you do, besides these two areas of industry ?
A: I also work as an executive producer. In a couple of years, I might produce my own film . Apart from my work, I love to watch films, I like to travel and last but not the least, I do have my own publication house.
This is a big honour for our Marathi artistes. Now, with all these popular Marathi artistes in hindi serials, our own Marathi serials will have to make their scripts interesting, as the Marathi audience is likely to shift to Hindi, to watch their favourite Marathi artistes.
