It wasn't that long ago that I researched a little of the history of
the Bull's Head at Repton. I posted this at:
www.midlandspubs.co.uk/derbyshire/repton.htm#Bulls-Head -
unfortunately I was unable to have a pint in this pub when I was last
in Repton. I say unfortunately because since then it has come to my
attention that the pub has been given a new lease of life by new
operators. The pub actually closed for a spell before some £600,000
was spent on renovations. Have a look at the website
http://www.thebullsheadrepton.co.uk/
and you get the impression that this is a really well-run pub.
Homemade food, handcut real chips, homemade lemonade, local produce,
daily menus, real ales and continental lagers plus a conker
competition - yes a conker competition. Sounds like a real pub revival
in South Derbyshire.
Cheers
