The former Greenall's Duke of York in Lichfield was re-opened at the
beginning of December by Joules Brewery and locals seem to approve of
the refurbishment. Until the Joules beers come on stream, it would
appear that the beer choice is Timothy Taylor Landlord Bitter, Bass,
Brew XI plus a seasonal ale. The refit of this pub follows work on the
Duke of Wellington which now serves a wide range of beer. This has to
be welcome news for Lichfield which had relied too much on the efforts
of the excellent Queen's Head, one of my favourite cheese and beer
pubs of the Midlands.
