Hi Patricia,

At our recent Clericus meeting, I gave a report about Family Promise. Below is a more recent update. Please pass this on to the rest of the Midlands clergy. By the way, I was asked about the member churches. I’m attaching a list, which I found on their website: http://www.familypromisemidlands.org  (I was wrong about St. Martin’s, but St. Mary’s is also involved.)

FYI.   Looks like Family Promise will start up in early November.   St. Mary’s will be one of the first churches to host.   I’ll let you know how it goes.

We did it!

As most of you know, Family Promise of the Midlands started a campaign in mid August to raise $50,000 by Nov. 15.  Yesterday--less than one month after we started the campaign--we have exceeded our goal.

Thanks to a $20,000 donation from a member of one of our participating churches, our campaign has now raised $53,320. God is faithful and good!

Your donations to our campaign will help pay for renovations to the Day Center and insure our first year of operation.

While we have reached our target, we will continue to accept donations to sustain this ministry as well as to help the families we assist find transitional housing--something sorely lacking in Columbia.

We promise to be good stewards of your money, and we thank you very much for your generosity.

Rev. Jill Duffield
